On multiple fronts, conservatives are challenging Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s executive order to restore voting rights to ex-felons who have completed their prison sentences.
This week, Judicial Watch, the conservative advocacy group, filed a lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Bedford County, seeking to prevent ex-felons who gain from McAuliffe’s April 22 order from voting in the November presidential election.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of several Virginia voters, who claim their “lawful votes” will be “diminished” by the votes of the ex-felons.

NOT elected. Per the usual, McAwful was handed the fraud after midnight when a huge libtard county turned in “just enough to win” at the end. McAwful had been behind right up to that point. The GOP never contested because the GOPe hated the candidate and in fact had done nothing to help him.
It was the GOPe traitors that put McAwful in office more than the Rats.
They served their time.

Free Citizens have the right to vote in America.
This Country need executive order Control.
Executive branches of government have been allowed to go wild with bronco ‘got elected’ and his slanted people people.
Anyone who can vote should be allowed to buy a gun. You can’t selectively strip away constitutional rights, it’s all or nothing.
If you have no right to vote....then there is no need for taxation upon you. I agree...the minute that a sentence ends and the probation period ends...your right to vote ought to be restored within 30 days. This is an 1800s type mentality that ought to find some method of correcting itself.
Murders, rapists, and child molesters are certainly ready to cancel out our votes.
These aren’t people in there for library fines.
There is a reason why they dont have the ability to vote. If these were people so concerned about being citizens of a republic, then they would not have done that stuff in the first place.

It USED to be that someone convicted of a felony could petition the Commonwealth for a restoration of rights.
That petition could only be made after any jail, parole and or probation time had been served.
Also if financial restitution had been ordered that must have been paid as well.
When a petitioner filed for restoration of rights he or she had to prove that they intended to be responsible citizens of the Commonwealth.
A panel would review the application and the crimes for which the rights had been denied.
If the panel approved the petition it was sent to the Governor who could approve or deny the petition.
I know several people who were convicted of felonies in their younger days.
Roughly half of them used the experience to better themselves.
They became better neighbors and citizens.
The other half was made up of repeat offenders who never did wise up.
They are the types you don’t want walking into a gun store and buying any type of firearm.
They are also the very low info voters who would reflexively vote democrat every time.
The petition process was neither quick or easy.
It took a commitment in time and patience to have your rights restored.
This process served Virginia well for generations.
I see no need to change it.
Then don’t release them - if they are such a danger to us, then keep them. I do believe that many should never be released, that their crimes are that heinous that it shows that they will always be a danger to us.
But if they have paid their debt to society, then they should have their rights restored.
Texas restores felons voting rights on completion of sentence, parole, etc. There once was a five year wait, that was abolished in 2000. I serve as a local election judge, I have no problem with this.
Now if we can find some responsible way to restore gun rights to non-violent offenders.
fine, then encourage the state government to pass such a law.
what is wrong is here is that the governor decreed this as if he were king.
