Trump expanded on that in a statement released Monday night. Here it is, in full:
The Washington Post unfortunately covers Mr. Trump very inaccurately. Today's headline, "Donald Trump Suggests President Obama Was Involved With Orlando Shooting" is a perfect example. We no longer feel compelled to work with a publication which has put its need for "clicks" above journalistic integrity.
They have no journalistic integrity and write falsely about Mr. Trump. Mr. Trump does not mind a bad story, but it has to be honest. The fact is, The Washington Post is being used by the owners of Amazon as their political lobbyist so that they don't have to pay taxes and don't get sued for monopolistic tendencies that have led to the destruction of department stores and the retail industry.

I despise headlines that tell be how feel. Oh wait, liberals are emotion-driven. Hence, any article purporting to tell me how to feel is automatically written for morons, er... liberals
Wow a Washington Post reporter writes an article telling me how I have to think. What else is new?
Crack whores don’t like it when you call them out for what they are.
Guess what? I doesn’t bother me. In fact, it pleases me that the Washington Post has been banned from Trump events. It’s about time.
It doesn’t.
The WaPoo is execrable!
No, it doesn’t bother me at all. We can do without another left wing ragspewing the same bull$***. Hope it goesunddr.
It’s about time someone had the stones to do this. The NYSlimes is another rag that can properly be ignored.
Don’t let the door hit you in the arse on the way out!
Doesn’t bother me. I don’t consider the a credible new source.
I use Amazon and have their Prime membership. It’s a good deal for me, actually. I haven’t received any emails from Amazon.com or any anti-trump infowar emails for that matter.
Mostly what I get are spam marketing emails supposedly from all the major retailers trying to get me to hit a link in the email, but they are all fake.
Banning a publication that overtly slants almost everything to the left does not bother me at all. What does bother me, though, is the number of people commenting at the site that this is somehow “proof” that Trump is a would-be dictator while invoking Godwin’s law.
Perhaps none of them realize that without publicity, Trump is a nobody. He has made the media into part of his campaign. However, since as a public figure, his ability to sue for slander and libel is very limited, his only recourse is to shut out those venues that are prone to libel and slander. Venues like WaPo.
It’s not like the press has been barred. It’s not like you can’t find out what Trump is doing, even without the press.
WaPo blogger Chris Cillizza:
that moment when a person presumes to decide for you when you should be offended by something... and suddenly your gaydar goes off
Partially correct.
The Washington Post bothers me.
Priceless!
It doesn’t. Please, Chris Cilizza, can you remind me which reporters were kicked off of the Obama plane in 2008?
Amazon Prime is a profit driver and won’t insult its customers. TWP, on the other hand, . . .
Trump’s right. 8t was a lying headline and article, and just one of many. Does Bezos use the WP to further his own interests? Yes.
With today’s journalistic bent towards an op-ed bent rather than shoe leather reporting I’m rather surprisesd this hadn’t happened sooner.
The people have a right to know and to read what is actually happening, and not what is being conjured up as informational propaganda. Political agenda has no place in the first amendment.
...it should but it doesn’t. The first amendment has been usurped by a bunch of anti-american extremist and I hope they are destroyed each and every one!
