WASHINGTON U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday warned Americans against pointing a finger at one religion or another after a gunman who pledged allegiance to the Islamic State militant group massacred 49 people at a gay night club in Orlando.

Let’s turn the scenario around. Say a lone gunman entered a gathering of Islamists and proceeded to shoot and kill a couple dozen of them. Would there be no interest as to why? Just blame the gun? I hardly think so.
