Just saw this video on Twitter.. this was on ABC news.
Not forgetting that some were shot many times...
There has been more than one witness that claims there were more than one shooter...One person who was outside claimed there was gun fire coming from a parked car...
The DJ from the club was interviewed on a Tampa station today and reported that the shooter methodically fired 3-5 round bursts and reloaded numerous times. It only takes a second to drop a magazine and reload. With numerous loaded mags, a person could fire hundreds of rounds in minutes.
After the initial shooting spree, it appears he herded the people into a bathroom and called 911 to mock the police. Hostages also called and texted during the almost three hours.
One of the callers indicated that the shooter had a problem with a gun and took time to clear it. It seems there would have been opportunity to overwhelm the shooter, but no one wanted to take the chance. No one attacked the shooter until the police finally entered around five.
There were also reports of a bomb vest, but I haven’t heard any confirmation. The FBI did evacuate his neighborhood while they searched for explosives. The residents returned about 11:30 tonight.
That site looks a little shaky to me. I’m especially leery of sites that throw runes around.
That’s a good question, the three hour timeline bothers me.
It sounds like there was shooting as he went in, supposedly that was reported, then the mass shooting/stampede for the exits. That couldn’t have taken too much time.
For the next two plus hours, he’s in there with hostages, while the injured bleed out. Was there another killing spree when the cops threw in the flash-bangs, or are almost all the casualties inflicted in the initial attack? How many people died between the arrival of the first responders and the death of the terrorist?
Lots and lots of questions yet to be answered, for sure.
According to one person in the club that survived the shooter was standing in front of the door and the other exits were locked.
I know this is slightly off topic, BUT... has anyone noticed that Trump was/is supposed to give a speech Monday laying out the crimes of Hillary , and suddenly this Gay Night Club mass murder comes along on Sunday ?
How convenient.
Well if it was planned for such a convenience, then it has already backfired: Trump will be able to focus on one of his strong points, which is to lead Americans in their fight against Islam.
He’s the only one who will do this, and according to a popular biz book in the 90s, it’s a Blue Ocean Strategy, which puts him in a winning position.

People do insane things in a panic, and you never know what you will do until you face it. I’m not a big fan of sexual peculiarities, but I don’t think that this involves gayness.
One of the heroes of Flight 93 was gay. Had he not done what he had done, the Capitol would be a big smoking hole and something like WW III probably would have ensued.

I’ll bet that not every single person in that bar was gay. He apparently said that he had a bomb or suicide vest and that may have affected people’s thinking. Maybe “he will run out of ammo”, “he won’t get me”, or “I’ll make a run for it” or “the police will burst through the door at any moment” was running through people’s minds.
Psychologists will probably be analyzing this incident for a long, long time. Personally, I’d like to believe that 50 people throwing beer bottles all at once at the guy would have overwhelmed him and he could have been overpowered. But what the exact situation was inside is unknown.
I’m sure that the SWAT teams, etc are also having second thoughts here. But it is not uncommon in the Mideast to draw authorities in with some incident and then explode a bomb. But I will say, that three hours is a long time and why did we buy them all of those cool toys and give them all of those legal powers if they are afraid to actually use them.
This situation is something like the Russian theater incident, where their SWAT/military teams actually had to kill some civilians in order to save more and kill the terrorists. But the Russian attitude is that the people in that situation are already dead and any that can be saved is a victory.
It’s totally shocking to me that they waited 3 hours. After Columbine and Bataclan, the first cops are just supposed to charge in. Waiting even 1/2 hour for a four-cop team to assemble means mass casualties. The first cop or cops to arrive just GO!!!!! This attempt to disrupt the shooter will have a better outcome than waiting outside for the perfect SWAT team to arrive and get ready.
IMO, most 'mass shooters' are utterly incompetent. This bastard actually knew what he was doing.

What, he couldn’t run to safety once outside the building? Only instinct was to trap everyone inside...
