Brock Turner was convicted of attacking the woman he met at a fraternity party in January 2015

A former Stanford University swimmer whose six-month sentence for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman ignited widespread outrage will leave jail three months early.

Online inmate records show 20-year-old Brock Turner is expected to be released from the Santa Clara County jail on Sept. 2. He was booked June 2.

County jail inmates serve 50 percent of their sentences if they keep a clean disciplinary record. Calls to the county Department of Correction weren't immediately returned Thursday.

Turner was convicted of attacking the woman he met at a fraternity party in January 2015 and was sentenced last week to six months in jail and three years' probation.

The sentence triggered criticism that a star athlete from a privileged background had gotten special treatment. Prosecutors had asked for six years in prison.

Did he “attack” the woman or did he penetrate and “rape” the woman?

I fervently hope that his prison stay is an “interesting” one.

Why are they shocked by this? California has proven itself to be a lawless state.

Ted Kennedy was the original “Swimmer”.

That's a very good question...

I keep seeing these faceboob meme about him "raping" her but he was charged with "sexually attack" ...

There must be a legal difference in definition...

I hope he screws up and ends up having to serve all six months.

I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

He did rape her and was caught in the act. She willingly got drunker than a skunk (no date-rape drugs) and passed out. Although I think that is horribly irresponsible, he should still be held accountable for what he did. After she passed out, he dragged her to an alley and raped her for 20 minutes before two other people at the party saw it and stopped him. He still claims he doesn't understand what he did wrong.

He still will serve more time than most female rapists.

What the hell is wrong with you?

You buddies with Whoopi Goldberg?

Rape at the point of a gun is rape rape, but what Brock did isnt really rape? I mean she was drunk at a party so clearly she wanted it, right?

Again, what the hell is wrong with you?

If he was as drunk as has been written it may be that penetration didn’t occur.

I looked at California penal code for sexually assault...

Rape can fall under that code...but it is a much more severe penalty....

Based on his sentencing, it looks like he wasn't charged with raping her, just for sexually assault her...

Not condoning the little creep, but this "looks" like he didn't actually rape her...

He still got away with a light sentence as sexually assault can carry a two year prison term...

He “abused” her while both of them were fully clad (no penetration).

Normally you get 1/3 off your sentence for good behavior; so a 6-month sentence can become 4 months.

This case, whatever its merits, is becoming a cause celeb, because the activists want to paint every male as a potential rapist, and they want their pound of flesh.

Ergo, the reaction is becoming a tad hysterical, imho.

Don’t blame me the statement I made was common law doctrine for centuries. Even sex with a sleeping woman is rape.(An Irish case.)

Complete BS. Her top of her dress was pulled down to her waist and the bottom of it was pushed up to her waist. Her undergarments were removed. Her vagina was full of dirt and debris that he jammed in there. He may not have put his penis inside of here (we have only his word as she was unconscious) but let's pretend he was just dry humping her.

This case would have not become the cause celebre it has had the stupid father just not written about the “20 minutes of action.” Maybe it’s the father who should do time. It seems to explain the kid’s actions.
