GOP to Trump: Stop Alienating Latinos
CNN ^ | 6/6/16 | Eric Bradner and Phil Mattingly

Top Republican officials and donors are increasingly worried about the threat Donald Trump's attack on a judge's Mexican heritage could pose to their party's chances in November -- and about the GOP's ability to win Latino votes for many elections to come.

Trump is under fire for repeatedly accusing U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is overseeing a lawsuit involving Trump University, of bias because of his Mexican heritage. Those concerns intensified Sunday after Trump said he would have the same concerns about the impartiality of a Muslim judge.

Former attorney general Alberto Gonzales:

Trump right to question judge’s fairness

Former attorney general: Trump right to question judge’s fairness

By Mark Hensch

Former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales says Donald Trump is right to challenge the fairness a judge overseeing lawsuits against him.

“An independent judiciary is extremely important. But that value is not the only one in play here,” Gonzales wrote in a Saturday op-ed for The Washington Post.

“Equally important, if not more important from my perspective as a former judge and U.S. attorney general, is a litigant’s right to a fair trial,” he continued.

“The protection of that right is a primary reason why our Constitution provides for an independent judiciary. If judges and the trials over which they preside are not perceived as impartial, the public will quickly lose interest in the rule of law upon which our nation is based.” Trump on Thursday said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel’s Hispanic ethnicity is “an absolute conflict” in three civil fraud lawsuits against the billionaire.

He said Curiel’s “Mexican heritage” makes him partial because of Trump’s calls for a wall along America’s southern border with Mexico.

Trump's been attacking the judge's racist political affiliation (La Raza, "The Race"), not his Mexican heritage.

He has? When?

Great allies. If they really were his allies they would talk about any issues behind closed doors. Keep hitting them Trump, it’s the only way they’ll learn.

From the article:

Trump notes that U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel has treated him in a "hostile manner" because he is a member of "a club or society which is very strongly pro-Mexican."

Trump is talking about La Raza, obviously. So again, he wasn't going after Curiel's Mexican heritage, he was going after his political affiliation. That said, he should (if he hasn't done so already) be more specific about La Raza and their history/intent.

0bama appointed Cruiel in 2012, even after Cruiel admitted to belonging to San Diego La Raza Lawyer’s Association. If you go to their website, they say that they are affiliated with La Raza Attorney’s Association of California. Go to the LRLA of CA website, and you will find that they are affiliated with the National Council of La Raza, which is an extreme leftist organization, which has helped organize most of the anti-Trump riots in CA, and probably the one in Albuquerque. The Chief of Police in San Jose is also a La Raza activist.

Trump repeated over and over in the interview with Jake Tapper that the judge was being unfair because he was Mexican.

GOP to Trump: Stop Alienating Latinos

Trump cannot be held responsible for the stupidity/ignorance/arrogance of the GOPe.

Full disclosure: I am an American of Latin origin. Have been one for 89% of my life. I am as familiar with my culture and language of origin, as I am with my proud American culture and language.

I categorically reject the label "Latino," which suggests illiterate, criminal, arrogant, illegal, Mexican invaders mislabeled "immigrants." by the determined destroyers of our country/culture, our once admired, respected and feared country.

Declaration : I have not once, ever, in my entire life felt "alienated."

But if the shoe fits...

Certainly not the ones who arrive legally in accordance with our existing immigration laws!
They have enjoyed preferential treatment and have NEVER been unwelcome.

...La Raza members are not acceptable
Bears repeating...
And they never shall be.

I think the ire towards GOP party leaders are ok.

But remember these people do and think what their top donors tell them.

It is these top donors (of cheap labor express) who are OUR problem.
