VFW to Obama: ‘No confused politics here’
VFW ^ | June 2, 2016

Posted on 06/02/2016 1:05:12 PM PDT by Gamecock

WASHINGTON — In defending his administration’s handling of the economy, President Obama took a swipe at the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States yesterday by alleging it was confused by rightwing media pundits and outlets.

During a speech in Elkhart, Ind., the president said “I'm concerned when I watch the direction of our politics. I mean, we have been hearing this story for decades — tales about welfare queens, talking about takers, talking about the 47 percent. It's the story that's broadcast every day on some cable news stations, on rightwing radio. It's pumped into cars and bars and VFW halls all across America, and right here in Elkhart. And if you're hearing that story all the time, you start believing it. It's no wonder people think big government is the problem. No wonder public support for unions is so low. No wonder that people think the deficit has gone up under my presidency when it's actually gone down.”

“I don’t know how many VFW Posts the president has ever visited,” said VFW National Commander John A. Biedrzycki Jr., “but our near 1.7 million members are a direct reflection of America, which means we represent every generation, race, religion, gender, and political and ideological viewpoint. We don’t have confused politics, we don’t need left or rightwing media filters telling us how to think or vote, and we don’t need any President of the United States lecturing us about how we are individually effected by the economy.

“Our nation was created and continues to exist solely because of the men and women who wear the uniform,” he said. “Let’s not denigrate their service, their sacrifice or their intelligence."

Usually the President speaks at the American Legion and the VFW national conventions in the summer.

The attendees should walk out or stand with their back to him en masse.

Obozo insults all of the VFW members when he doesn’t know squat.

F*** him and the horse he rode in on! Did he forget that people in places outside the beltway-the “real” people didn’t like that bitter clinger crap the first time he said it? He should be tossed out the next time he wants to attend or speak at a VFW event...

. . . we don’t need any President of the United States lecturing us about how we are individually effected by the economy.

That one left a mark, for sure.

President Obama took a swipe at the Veterans of Foreign Wars

************

He should be honoring, not denigrating or casting aspersions on hero’s. Obama is not fit to stand in the same room with our veterans.

Any person who makes such a judgment about the intelligence of millions of American citizens--veterans who have sacrificed for him and the hardworking who work and earn the very dollars that support his own extravagant life style provides a window into his own soul and mind!

Note the difference between this President's judgment of "the People" and that of the genius Author of our Declaration of Independence and early President:

"I am not among those who fear the people. They...are our dependence for continued freedom. And to preserve their independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts, as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds...our people...must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses; and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they (the British) now do, on oatmeal and potatoes; have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account; but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers....This example reads to us the salutary lesson that private fortunes are destroyed by public, as well as by private extravagance. And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from the principle in one instance, becomes a precedent for a second; that second for a third; and so on, till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery, to have no sensibilities left but for sinning and suffering. Then begins, indeed, the 'bellum omnium in omnia,' which some philosophers...have mistaken for the natural, instead of the abusive, state of man. And the fore-horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in its train wretchedness and oppression." - Thomas Jefferson
Now, just think about whose edicts and policies have added more debt for future generations than all previous presidents added together.

I was really furious when I heard those horrible words from his filthy mouth. Especially this close to Memorial Day when so many vets were out and about giving out poppies and Fleet Week had commenced in NYC.

No wonder that people think the deficit has gone up under my presidency when it's actually gone down.

I'm anxious for Hillary to make this claim.

“No wonder that people think the deficit has gone up under my presidency when it’s actually gone down.”

The deficit has gone down, but the debt has doubled:

“As of December 15, 2015, the U.S. is $18.8 trillion in debt.”-Nationalpriorities.org

National Debt in 2008: 10 Trillion

He’s brought the deficit “down” while simultaneously running up the debt faster than any other president, ever.

Neat trick, one those dumb racist hate-radio VFW’ers simply are too stupid to understand.

What he said is completely true and totally misleading. They added TARP and the Porkulus to Bush’s last budget totaling over 1.6 TRILLION in additional spending. The spending since has been slightly less and while the debt has skyrocketed, the deficit has gone down ever so slightly.

We could really use more men like Jefferson. 4 on the Supreme Court, 30 in the Senate, and 200 in the House.
