First thing I did for my Wife after we got married was to get her a concealed carry license.
Now we have a matching pair.
This punk got what he deserved.
Only in librat insane asylum cities would they go after that Husband.
Get that guy a shiny new titanium tire iron.
So says the bleeding heart liberal
This is why our Anglo-Saxon forebears were so wise in creating the jury system. Not Guilty.
“The legal standard”?
You do realize that there are legal standards that vary from state to state...
1. Never bring a belt to a tire-iron fight.
2. It was clearly self-defense, in which the victim (Diallo) was protecting himself against an armed rapist and previously convicted kidnapper.
Bottom line to me - Nash did not go to far. Confronted a criminal rapist still in the immediate area, it is just too darn bad the criminal died. Just a real pity. My imagination is not able to develop a “gone too far” scenario. Yup, would be an honor to be on that jury.
This man charged into a life-threatening situation against who knows what in order to save the life of his wife. He took on a man 20 years younger and deserves our respect. I’m not really feeling sorry for Nash given that he is clearly a predator that the legal system has dealt with in an inadequate fashion. Why was this scumbag still running around preying on the community?
Um, did you read the story? The perp apparently assaulted him with a belt.
I’ve done a ton of marshal arts. Trust me, a belt can be a serious weapon. Against an unskilled and/or unarmed opponent, it would take me a few seconds to cause serious harm with a belt if I were so inclined.
So IMHO, the husband was still in threat for his life and/or of grievous bodily harm.
Oh yeah, the perp also had just tried to rape his wife, so I’m thinking the threat level was high.
But you can have your opinion, of course. We can just agree to disagree.
Just doing what the legal system won’t do. It’s all about law, nothing about justice; just a bunch of prissy lawyers and dozing judges.
Good post!
It is unreasonable that a predator like Nash was in a position to attack this woman. I understand what you are saying, but ask yourself if it is reasonable for someone as well-practiced at violating other people’s rights as Mr. Nash is, should be able to hone this questionable skill, putting his victims at increasing disadvantage?
Shouldn’t there be some defense in the obvious violation of the social contract?
Probably both the rapist and the arrested husband were black. I think Diallo is a common name in French-speaking Africa like Cote D’Ivoire and Senegal
Lawyer’s statement:
“The husband, trapped in an elevator with the career criminal attacking him with a belt, feared for his life. Fortunately he was able to defend himself, but, sadly, the career criminal and rapist expired from his injuries. Our condolences to his family.”
I’m sympathetic to Diallo, but the fact is, he DID have an unregistered attack tire iron. It was probably painted in a scary, threatening military color too. Asking for trouble.
Not guilty.
In more just days the city would have given this guy a medal.
It is reasonable to want to kill your wifes rapist.
There’s some information missing here. He punched her, he threw her on the floor... but when the husband came in, Nash was trying to leave. It says “would-be rapist” so he didn’t complete the act. Why was he trying to leave before the husband even showed up? How did she get to a phone? There’s a gap in the story here.
Good work.
Naturally, New York disapproves.
Modern times.
