Well, rats! I just heard thunder here, so I guess this is another telescope opportunity that I’ll be missing!

Hope you get to see it!

I went out as soon as I posted to you - - didn’t wait. LOL! Clear sky to the SE so I dragged the ‘scope out.

I checked the radar when I came in because I saw a couple of flashes of light while I was outside. I saw that your area is about to get hit with thunderstorms. Lucky you!!

No rain around here but apparently one cloud out there has lightning inside.

Thunder but no rain yet. It went to Midland, 20 miles away. As usual!

But there is another round of storms. Maybe we’ll get lucky before it’s over.

Of course, hubby just spent 3 days watering the lawn. sigh

Well darn. The swath looks mighty wide so I figured you’d get lucky. Still more heading that way so maybe ......

I just did a round of flower watering and will do another one before I go to bed. The ground was bone dry under them after the watering they got last night.
The lawn and all the other flower beds are on their own. I’m only watering the flowers Dad sent the last couple of years he was alive.

It finally is raining! Wooohooo!

Just started. I hope it rains all night!

Poor kitties are out in it. I know they will find a place to shelter. They weren’t on the front porch when I opened the door to check to see if it was actually wet out there. LOL!

WOOHOO for y’all! You sure need the rain.

Poor kitties! Hope there are plenty of places they can get in the dry.

Well, we have a kitty carrier on the front porch that is out of the elements, so if they are smart they could be in there. Or on a window sill or in our shed. You know...kittehs are very smart about staying dry! :)

If they’re anything like our cats, the carrier is the last place they’d go. Carrier = trip to the vet. LOL!

Probably in the shed. Doesn’t seem like a window sill would be much shelter.

True that! I don’t think it’s raining any more so I guess they’ll dry off and be happy kitties by morning.

If I let them in now....I’ll be up and down with them all night long. Wanting this, wanting that, wanting attention when all I want is sleep.

They will be fine. They always are. :)

They probably made a beeline for the shed when they heard the rain coming. That’s what ours do when they’re outside and it rains. There are several outbuildings close by to choose from.

They won’t melt if they get a little damp. They just get a little miffed. LOL!

Our outside cats aren’t happy that they have to be inside at night nowadays. They want to go out to wander but that’s what’s killed too many over the years. Coyotes love kitty snacks. GRRRRR!! And there are too many of them around here now.

It’s a shame you have to contend with predators around your property.

Say....didn’t the stork family in Poland have 3 little ones? I could only see 2 tonight. :( I guess nature has struck again? Darn it!

Yeah, well that’s what comes with the territory when you live in the country unfortunately. What stinks is that farmers eradicated them years ago because they were killing livestock. Then the wildlife jerks brought more in and it was illegal to kill them. Not any more. They’re fair game because there are so many.

Yes, nature struck again. The male killed the youngest chick a couple of days ago. Both parents had stepped on the poor thing earlier that morning and it may have been injured. Something set the male off, that’s for sure. :-(

I guess they don’t want to raise a crippled little one. It might have never survived on its own and the parents instinctively knew this. Sad, though.

That’s my thinking on it. Still hard to see it happen though. It was rough.
