The rancorous political debate over sexual identity unexpectedly prompted the Republican-controlled House of Representatives to rejected an energy and water spending bill on Thursday after Democrats attached an amendment to protect the rights of transgender people.
The legislation, which would have funded the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Energy in the fiscal year that starts Oct. 1, failed on a 112-305 vote, with 130 Republicans and 175 Democrats opposing the legislation.

My take as well.
Yup, only dim-bulb-crats feel that LBGC bullsh*t should be included in an energy and water bill.
And the Repubs....if they have not yet gotten their collective IQ up to room temp yet...will surrender.
Especially under the “leadership” of Paul Ryan...the dorkette.
Gridlocked government is good government.
End the gender debate by just having them drop their drawers and checking their equipment. We don’t have time for their mentall illness.

I don’t understand how the Democrats can stop major funding to protect crossdressers? I mean, 30 years ago, no political party would have even dared to think of such a thing. In fact for the history of mankind, no political group has ever made crossdressers a protected class of people. Why now? Will 2016 be known as Democrats for Drag Queens?

I don’t remember Tip O’neal or Pelosi ever ALLOWING the Minority Party to do ANYTHING, let alone attach an Amendment to a Bill.

I hate it when the articles fail to give us the actual amendment number, or language of the amendment. I tried to find it at Thomas, but couldn’t.
Transgenderism is the pinnacle of feelings trumping facts.
Liberals say morality is based on how you feel, the person who feels most strongly about it is the most correct/moral.
So the person who feels like a woman is not only to be considered a woman, but the feelings of everyone else is irrelevant to the nut’s feelings.
This view is also why they say the one person who is offended trumps the free speech and association rights of everyone in a public discussion. That one person thinks the debate is hate, it outweighs everyone else’s opinion to liberals.
