It was no longer a courthouse, and back then, people just weren’t that tuned in to Abraham Lincoln’s legacy. My grandparents are referred to in the history books as being a poor family that called the courthouse their residence while they owned it.

I did that a few weeks ago. Fell asleep just before the rally began and woke up much later watched the rerun. Well duh!
Glad he has continued to rally in CA. As someone pointed out by continuing to court California it will cost him little but the democrats will have to cover more and more territory, spend more and more money and generally spreading out the troops before flanking and attacking.

That was an interesting site. It was a little frustrating because I started reading just wanting to know what happened to the original Postville courthouse, but the site went into the entire story, Henry Ford and then the building of the replica.
Is Postville still a town, or did it become Lincoln, Ill.?
Just catching up. Fresno rally speech was one of the best ones, I think. I didn’t see Jim Rob, but Trump certainly focused on Fresno issues.
Maybe going over the top on the delegates was the reason, but that was a bang-up, over-the-top speech and rally. Those Fresno folks were glorious.
Ryan sold his soul to the Devil. He’s just now realizing that once you do that, you can never buy it back. That’s not part of the deal. Now he owns you.
Postville, was bypassed by the railroad that was laid new, about a mile away. As was the case often in those days, having the railroad miss your town by so little, meant the town would likely wither up and die, which it did. Lincoln was asked to christen the new town, that had building lots laid out along the new track. This was in 1853; 7 years before Lincoln won the Presidency.
He must have been a bit of celebrity already, and his local friends wanted to curry favor with him, as they came up with the idea of naming the new town after him.
To Lincoln’s credit- he said: I don’t know why you would name something after Lincoln, because nothing ever amounted to much named Lincoln. He then took a pocket knife and cut a watermelon open, taking it from a wagon load nearby, using a cup to scoop out the juices, pouring it out in a christening ceremony, naming the town Lincoln.

Google earth goes to the historic site and the replica courthouse when I Google: Postville, Ill. I guess the historical park and replica courthouse are at the original site in old Postville?

You are so right. Ryan is a traitor to those that elected him. I read where Session proposed they stop the cuts to the military and instead cut benefits to illegal aliens. Ryan shot that down. I’d like to know what this obsession with treating these illegals like royalty comes from. The majority of illegals do not contribute anything other than leaching off of the American tax payers. If we didn’t have such a complete failure as President, those agitators at the Trump rallys would be rounded up and deported if they didn’t have proper documentation.
Aw, that’s too bad, but so glad JR got to attend what I heard was a fantastic rally!!! I plan to watch it on archive this weekend :)
I think the Fresno rally was Trump’s BEST rally!
He was off the cuff and spoke like he was conducting a class in business. He was funny and educational and very entertaining. The crowd held on to every word he said. They as well as us learned another BUYING TIP, as don’t buy LEED buildings. LOL Donald explains so much by using people and stories as examples.
He can, and does, go ALL over the map on a subject and go back to where he started better than anyone I know! LOL

I saw something on Facebook about Trump’s motorcade being attacked in San Diego and USSS had to speed out of there. Was there anything on FR?
