ABC, CBS, Fox News Express Interest in Trump-Sanders Debate

ABC, CBS and Fox News have expressed interest in hosting a debate between presidential candidates Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders.

Sources with knowledge of the situation told Variety that CBS News and Fox News have been in contact with the campaigns about a possible debate. A Fox News spokesperson confirmed that the network has been involved in talks. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for ABC News told Variety, “I can tell you we’re always interested in more opportunities to hear from the candidates.”

The idea of a debate between Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, and Sanders, who trails frontrunner Hillary Clinton in the race for the Democratic nomination, emerged during Trump’s appearance Wednesday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Kimmel allowed the Sanders campaign to plant a question in the interview, asking Trump whether he would be willing to debate Sanders before the June 7 California primary. Trump responded that he “would love to do that,” if the two candidates could use the event to raise money for charity.

Sanders later wrote on Twitter, “Game on. I look forward to debating Donald Trump in California before the June 7 primary.”

Speaking at a press conference Thursday morning, Trump said that his campaign had already fielded calls from several networks about the possibility of hosting a debate. He added, “I’d love to debate Bernie. He’s a dream.”

Trump has said that he would hope to raise $10-15 million for an unnamed charity from a debate.

An NBC News spokesperson declined to comment when asked whether that organization had been in talks the campaigns regarding a debate. A CNN spokesperson did not respond immediately to a request for comment.

Fox News originally floated the idea of a Trump-sanders debate in March. The New York Times reported at the time that the cable network had nearly drawn the two candidates together for what ended up being a town-hall event with Sanders and Clinton moderated by Bret Baier.

Im all for this just keep lard a@@ Candy Crowley as far away from this debate as humanly possible..actually just keep all liberal loons away from moderating this debate, I know, finding a non liberal media type is like finding Waldo but it is possible to find someone neutral

Can anyone state Bernie’s strategy in the debate with Trump? I’m not sure what he hopes to achieve.

Of course they are interested... Trump does not need to give bernie that kind of audience to spiel his free stuff the kids want. I want to tell those kids “You are voting for me and every person who is working at a job... to pay for your keep. You want to live off the lamb and send this country into socialism for YOU.”

Spoiled, rude and dumb kids.. more and more have lost their ever lovin’ minds... Excuse the rant... I was taught to be responsible for ME and for anything I was involved in. These kids are clueless.

Make the result that The Donald can have both a media event AND a debate without Hillary even being in the room, and I’m all for it.

“I see no real value in it unless Sanders is the Dem nominee. Otherwise, why bother. It would be as meaningless as Trump debating Cruz after the Indiana primary. “

Great value. Trump has nothing to lose and Sanders rubs Hilarity’s face in it. It really has to do with putting another straw on the Cankles back.

Since it was Jimmy Kimmel’s show where the idea was hatched, I suggest Kimmel for the moderator, destroying the myth that only “deeply serious, progressive journalists” can moderate a debate. Plus, it would be a lot more fun.

Another thing that would be SWEET, and a poke in the eye of Clinton, would be if Trump were to show some of this video at his next rally, and ask the crowd if he should invite that speaker sometime?

Farrakhan on Hillary Clinton: 'That's a Wicked Woman'

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cu41CPQw0hg

THAT 2nd ONE is fascinating too, because starting at the 2:20 minute mark, he hints at why WHY Mrs. Clinton (and Sidney Blumenthal) had Qadaffi killed, and why she started a war in Syria too! (to prevent a middle-east "gold dinar" that would trash our international banker's paper-dollars)

You see, the international bankers must NOT be defied. because they run presidents, and kings. -Farrakhan

THIS ONE EXPLAINS IT EVEN BETTER... Gadhafi’s Gold-money Plan Would Have Devastated Dollar

HERE is HILLARY's EMAIL, where Sid Blumenthal urgently warned Hillary of Qadaffi's plan to take down the international bankers...
Six months later Nato, along with rebel troops that we armed, killed Qadaffi. hrc memo France's client & Q's [Qadaffi's] gold

“We came. We saw. He died,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said upon hearing the news.

Correction: it's at the 3:00 minute mark where Louis says this about Hillary...

"She, in her person, orchestrated the destruction of Libya, and the killing of Mohamar Qadaffi.
Qadaffi was my friend. He was my brother. She lied.

He was going to kill all his people? NO HE WASN'T. He was just going to kill those rebels
that America siezed on their dissatisfaction, made a counter-revolutionary move, and then used it
bring NATO in to bomb and destroy his air defense, and then move to kill him.

Now Libya is a "failed state". All the refugees fleeing out of Syria, fleeing out of Libya,
fleeing out of North Africa, is because of the POLICY of the United States of America, AND HER!

This is the attempt to drive bernie and Trump voters apart for Hillary. They are worried about Bernie voters going Trump.

I hope he doesn’t fall for it

In other circumstances, this might be true, but Trump is not aiming at Bernie. This is a torpedo amidships for Hillary, who is kicking interns in impotent frustration as she is sidelined.

Bernie doesn't even do non-civility, and Trump gets to be presidential, unfiltered, in front of the millions of Bernouts who are livid with Hillary. He gets to be charming and collegial and agree with Bernie's aspirations for the downtrodden, while being the adult in the room about what lifts people out of poverty. Watch the Sanders people come over in waves after Hillary's coronation.

Trump may pick up a decisive November margin in this one debate.

“I see no real value in it unless Sanders is the Dem nominee. Otherwise, why bother. It would be as meaningless as Trump debating Cruz after the Indiana primary. “

This debate would be the best political theater since TV was invented, with ratings totally through the roof, maybe greater than a Superbowl. And best of all, Irrelevant Hillary will be watching on the sidelines, stewing in her own juices.

Also, as others too have pointed out, a debate like this would be totally brilliant for Trump on multiple levels: Trump could only come out of this win-win, whereas no matter what happens for Bernie, this will be a MAJOR lose-lose for the Democrats and for Irrelevant Hillary herself, as it would have a shattering impact on the Democrat race. Basically, a debate like this is letting Trump inside the Democrat party to completely blow it up.

The Democrats couldn’t have imagined going up against someone like Trump in their wildest nightmares, and yet here he is and there they are.

Take a look at what “Dilbert” creator Scott Adams has to say about the benefit of this debate for Trump:

I vote for him as moderator too. Good idea. The moderator is just supposed to moderate, not be a part of the debate itself.

It minimizes Hillary in a big way and demoralizes her base.

Ya but the womens health organizations were not explicitly named by Trump, and hence it was technically not a lie for the MSM to omit “womens health” from the narrative.

Lying by omission is one way the MSM attempts to control the narrative.

(IMHO Trump should point this MSM omission out at every convenient opportunity.)
