Donald Trump will meet Monday with Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, whom key Republicans consider a possible running mate for the presumptive nominee.
The pair is scheduled to meet at Trump Tower in New York City, The Washington Post reports, citing sources who asked not to be named.
Corker, 63, is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He is the former mayor of Chattanooga and was first elected to Congress in 2006.
He has had a key role in many foreign policy issues involving the Obama administration, including the Iran nuclear deal.

I agree that everyone Trump meets with now, will be considered by the pundits and those in the media as being possible VP material, however, when these speculations arise, I believe that we should voice our concerns or are commendations to him on his Facebook page.
His Facebook page is being monitored by his staff and the feedback we give him will matter to him.

For one thing Trump has a thing for names and CORKER would NOT go over. Perhaps its just another information gathering time. Trump is NOT, according to Newt, going to let us know who his pick is until right before the convention. This hopefully is only a decoy as Carson interviewing people.

This is one of those fake stories. No one in the Trump campaign has even hinted at this. This is one of those lies that is an attempt to drive a wedge between Trump and conservatives reluctant to back him. Its a false flag.

If he picks Porker as VP stick a fork in him because Trump as a solution to all this mess will be done. He goes to the senate and finds one of the biggest RINO’s for a possible VP slot? Don’t lecture me folks Corker unfortunately is from my state. The DEM that ran against him last time was far more Conservative. Corker is among the worse of the worst in the GOP.

Corker’s only claim to fame is he endorsed Trump early, while the other RINOs were still trashing Trump.
So I guess you could say that Corker is slightly smarter than other RINOs, and from that, DC RINOs extrapolate he is a possible VP pick.
“billions for Iran” Corker would be almost the worst possible choice. If Trump hears that loud and clear he will back off.

If he were elected Vice President (highly unlikely since I think it is very unlikely Trump will pick him), he'd be the first South Carolina native to become Vice President since John C. Calhoun.
There's an old song that goes "My gal's a Corker, she's a New Yorker," but that doesn't make any sense in this connection since it's Trump who's the New Yorker and Corker isn't a gal.
Cruz loves Corker and voted for his amendments.
I would disagree with the notion that Arthur was an improvement over Garfield. Garfield was shot three months into his term so it is hard to judge how good a President he would have been, but he was very well-qualified. I saw a program on C-SPAN a while ago in which someone argued he might have been rated as one of the best Presidents if he had not been killed.
Arthur was possibly born in Canada. But his father wasn't accused of involvement in any assassination plots.
What state does he win for us? I’d rather have Kasich - at least he carries Ohio.
