The White House on Tuesday warned that President Obama would veto a House Republican proposal to provide funding to fight the spread of the Zika virus, in part because it uses unspent money in the Health and Human Services coffers, but also because it falls far short of the White House's request for funding.
"[T]he administration objects to the bill's use of previously appropriated funding as an offset," the Office of Management and Budget's statement of administration policy says. "Funding to fight the Zika virus should be treated as an emergency, the same as past public health emergencies such as the Ebola and H1N1 viruses, and should not be offset."
Disagreements between Congress and the White House have stalled a federal response to the Zika crisis, which includes 785 confirmed cases in Puerto Rico and nearly 100 in Florida. President Obama wants $1.9 billion in new spending to address the problem, while Senate negotiators have agreed to a $1.1 billion emergency fund. House Republicans put forward a $622 million package that doesn't add to the debt or deficit.

Proves to me this is another “fake” epidemic used to rile up the public and give the government a reason to divert funds and rights for political purposes.
C’mon - it’s such a “crisis with millions of lives at stake” that Obama is willing to do NOTHING because he doesn’t like where the money is coming from.

Obama’s only doing this because he has nothing to lose. Paul Ryan caves on everything, and brings always just enough ‘pubs along with him.

But I have another question: We know that almost all or all of the Representatives and Senators and other people are being blackmailed, that’s why they aren’t standing up to Barky....it’s all going to come out anyway, so why not stand up to him now and get it over with...
If we can research and find things, on these people, they must know we already know about it, so grow a backbone and stand up to him, tell him NO!!!...
That would help, but what is going to happen when people come back from the Olympics? Every one of them should be quarantined until they test negative for Zika. Of course, that won’t happen.
The leftists are going to protest any attempt to tinker with mosquito genetics to attempt to almost wipe out the mosquito population, too. They would rather see deformed babies than risk tinkering with “mother nature”.
