I think Obama wants to provoke China into demonstrating just how ballsy they can be by invading Taiwan.
There may be some feeble attempt at Obama expressing his ‘discomfort’ with the invasion, but we all know nothing will really happen. My guess is Obama thinks if he allows China to reclaim Taiwan, they won’t fuss when America begins taking control of various ‘no-name’ islands near (but not too near) that part of the world. Yes, this is all speculation. But one has to wonder what the end result is that Obama wishes to be his legacy. One Worlding may also figure into Obama’s and the EU’s final vision of what the world should look like.
