Laurie, if you’re ever traveling through Illinois, be extra careful, Illinois has no reciprocity with any other state, concerning C.C.W.
My son, a policeman and member of F.R., just enlightened me on this matter yesterday, I had no idea. I suppose that means I, as an Illinois citizen can’t carry legally in any other state. After all, if Illinois does not honor other state’s licenses, why would they honor ours?
By the way, I asked him what he would do if he stopped another state’s resident, who was carrying but had a license from his own state. He said, “nothing at all”. Furthermore, he said that every other cop he knows feels the same way.

i never go to states that i can’t legally carry in..... sad, but that’s my rule. no planes either... won’t it be great if President Trump gets that part of his agenda done? that we can carry in all 57 states ..... lots off the country i would still like to see....
Which is why my daughter and I no longer go through Illinois on our way to Missouri.
Several States, (effective May 24 including WEST Virginia) don't require a permit at all.
