Republicans are waging a battle over the Constitution when it comes to helping Puerto Rico.

Supporters of Speaker Paul Ryan’s legislation to help Puerto Rico handle billions in debt before a critical July bond payment deadline point to Article IV of the Constitution in arguing they have a responsibility to help the territory.

While we are diverted with toilet law and Spring, Paul Ryno wants to bail our Puerto Rico. Now let me tell you how insane that is. WE DON'T BAIL OUT STATES, like Illinois and California!! Much less do we send our tax dollars to a foreign country!! Let me suggest that all hell break loose!! WE ARE BROKE!! STOP THIS!!!

The pain Puerto Rico is feeling is an important lesson. Bail them out and they won’t learn the lesson and will do it all over again.

Ryan OWES Romney who MUST have Puerto Rico bailed out,
as he also did in Massachusetts when he had RomneyCARE
installed to bail out BAIN.

Romney is the curse, and Obama is his weapon.

No bailout for Puerto Rico. The more of these Liberal countries that fail the better it is for Conservatives.

What foreign country is the article claiming that Ryan wants to send money to? I did not find that in the article.

PR is not a country...

It basically falls into a the definition of a territory of the USA......

Puerto Rico is not a foreign country.

Puerto Rico is an unincorporated U.S. territory.

The bond default is our problem.

The bonds were issued under our name.

The bond default is our default.

Did you hear that?

The bond default is OUR default.

The United States is in default on its bonds.

This is unprecedented.

If you do not pay on a bond, it is worthless to the bond holder.

Now, what do you think all of the other bond holders throughout the world are going to do when this becomes obvious to them?

This fake Bail-Out has nothing to do with Jerry Rivers home country, it has ONLY to do with WALL ST and American Bankers. THEY ARE THE ONES to benefit fro ANY Bail-Out, It is THEIR Money and Lives on the Line, NOT PUERTO RICO!

I don’t understand why you say that the bonds issued by Puerto Rico were issued in our (the USA’s) name - could you please explain? My understanding is that the bonds were issued by the government of Puerto Rico and that the commonwealth’s government and the bondholders were all sophisticated parties represented by big-time lawyers who were familiar with P.R.’s legal inability to invoke bankruptcy protection.
