Donald Trump's support has surged and he is now running nearly even with Democrat Hillary Clinton among likely U.S. voters, a dramatic turnaround since he became the Republican party's presumptive presidential nominee, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Wednesday.

The results could signal a close fight between the two likely White House rivals as Americans make up their minds ahead of the Nov. 8 election to succeed Democratic President Barack Obama. As recently as last week, Clinton led Trump by around 13 points in the poll.

In the most recent survey, 41 percent of likely voters supported Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, and 40 percent backed Trump, with 19 percent not decided on either yet

Uh, if Reuters is admitting this, it means Rat party internal polling is showing him leading by 10%.

Ipsos is a liberal polling firm in USA/Canada.

Those are devastating numbers for Hillary.

Her lead’s disappeared like snow in July.

Reuters consistently had Trump over 45, 50% during the primary. Turned out to be accurate.

Trump will win.

Hillary is simply part of the rigged system along with most republicans.

The only true outsider is Trump. Even Sanders is worth an awful lot of money for a so-called socialist, AND he’s been camping in that establishment Senate job for a very long time.

In two months Trump’s poll numbers will be blowing Mrs. Clinton out of the water.

If Trump starts surging ahead of her, it will be interesting to see if the Rats try to jettison her before the convention.

It’s hard not to think that many of those past polls showing Trump umpteen points behind Hillary and Bernie were somewhat rigged just to damage Trump’s chances in the primaries. Now that he’s the presumptive nominee, they have to be more realistic or they begin to lose credibility.

And, of course, Kasich and Cruz and others fared better than Trump in those past polls matching them with Hillary or Bernie.

I think hillary would be a cakewalk for Trump. Still wouldn’t mind seeing that jettison part you mentioned.

Hillary has peaked at 40%. I don’t see her picking much of the undeclared 19%. And yes, I call it undeclared because I think many of them have already decided, they just aren’t ready to declare it yet.
