That’s what happens when you sell cheap goods at inflated prices.

Ha, ha, since the beginning of the year we have lost Sports Authority, Hallmark, the local supermarket, Barnes & Noble, Sears, Kmart, the kitchen supply store, and more restaurants than I can count.

If Costco goes under, though, then it will really start becoming a nightmare.

Well we know they will at least be here 500 years from now.

I think our local K-Mart is on the way out, too. I went there today and was shocked that their cozy little low-price restaurant had gone out of business! After 25 years.

It was a favorite spot for pensioners, where you could get a full breakfast for three bucks!

Middle class people just do not have discretionary income anymore for the little luxuries of life.

I may go back to making my own greeting cards, like I used to do when I was a kid.

I just get mine at the grocery store, their selection is better than it used to be and seldom more than a few dollars for a card.

Good luck; sounds like a plan. I work with people well past retirement age who can’t retire because they can’t sell their homes - and they can’t stay in them paying high property taxes without a steady paycheck. Sadly, many of these people did everything “right” and they’re still screwed...

The only reason I ever darken the door of Macy’s once every couple of years is to stock up on Chanel No 5

The local K-Mart attracted so many homeless and beggars that people stopped shopping there.

Growing up here even through the 1980s was great; the punitive taxes (driven by the government employee caste) basically killed the state. Who would ever move here or set up a business when they know they are just buying a piece in a massive pension IOU? Current revenues are consumed by those pensions, and nothing is maintained or fixed anymore. One of the reasons some areas were so slow to rebuild after Hurricane Sandy is that there was little reason to fix them (some beaches, for example).

Good. Macy’s insulted the front runner, the next President as well as the American people, calling us all racists just because we want a wall and to stop illegal immigration. They stopped selling Trump products, I hope they go out of business. Let them only have stores in Mexico where they would fit in better. They can sell perfume that smells like taco sauce.

I will not shop in any store where I do not feel safe in the Ladies’ Room.

Oh yes, drag queens are a known source of assaulting women. LOL!

Really? You'd be safer by banning butch lesbians from women's bathrooms, don't ya think?

Good. Macy’s insulted the front runner,

Really? I didn't know that. Well, then, they get what they deserve. No sarcasm, BTW.

It is not all about safety to me. It is about treating deviant behavior and mental illness as the norm, treating people of faith and traditional values as bigots, and treating the deviants as a protected political class.

The guy with the day-old Pepperidge Farms booth at the local flea market does a booming business.

Can’t believe a Freeper would miss the point of this issue entirely.

I went to Hallmark and found the perfect retirement card for an old teacher of mine - it was 7 dollars I think! Talk about sticker shock.
I got a good tip to shop for cards at the Dollar Store - they are plainer, of course, but perfectly functional for most occasions.

I still enjoy having lunch at Bloomingdale’s 40 Carrots...with the frozen yogurt for dessert. Every time we go there is a loooong line....but, it moves fast.

I know Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s are owned by the same company, but Bloomies wins out!!

Macys can diss Trump, if they want. And I can choose to diss Macys. I will never set foot in there again.
