Dozens of Methodist clergy members took a stand for equality on Monday in the hope that their church will re-evaluate discriminatory policies toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals during its 2016 General Conference, which begins on Tuesday.
More than 100 pastors, deacons, elders and candidates for ministry in the United Methodist Church released a letter publicly coming out as LGBT just one day before the church’s top policy-making body convenes in Portand to consider roughly 1,000 legislative petitions.

So thankful for the Southern Baptist conservative resurgence in the 80’s that took control of the convention from the liberals or we'd be in the same spot. Many of the liberals left and became episcopal or Methodist, others formed their own liberal group.
There are still some liberal southern Baptist but PTL we aren't heading down this road.

Good grief (not you). This past week I’ve been seeing “700 Club” commercials where they’re going to tell you how to navigate the world of “electronic cash”. They say it’s “coming soon”. I sure hope they explain the Antichrist and the False Prophet. I can rarely stand to watch anything they do other than the news and that’s only once in awhile.
From the time shortly after Jesus rose from the dead, people have claimed that it was "END TIMES"! It began with REVELATIONS, which subsequent Christians have used to declare that it WAS "THE END TIMES", which is WHY remaining a virgin was decreed to be THE best thing anyone could do. After all, it says, in Revelations that a pregnant women was in the worst kind of danger.
Fast forward and you get all kinds of different off shoots, like the Albigensians.
The different years of the Bubonic Plague, the 100 Years' War, To WWI, WWII, and the COLD WAR have all been called THE END TIMES, with applicable parts of revelations used to "prove" it all. Yet we're still here,nobody has been taken up to Heaven, ALIVE, and long after YOU and other believers in this latest delusion, will still be here.
And this is WHY religion should be kept off the news section. My beliefs are mine, yours are yours and we each think that the other is nuts.

I think I can safely speak for the various Bible Prophecy Caucai on FreeRepublic.com when I say that we are not talking about “religion”, i.e., a set of beliefs and practices that men use to get their god to do things for them. We are talking about Truth and Reality.
As a Physicist, Mathematician, and Computer Programmer, I know for a fact that without the revealed Word of the True and the Living God, we can not understand in any sense what is Real and what is not. When the United States Supreme Court ruled that the Bible could not be used in Public Schools, they banned the only source of revealed truth about the real world. Now the fact that the Bible says this will happen in the End Times just confirms its validity as the source of Truth.
The fact that you refer to the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ given to John the Apostle as “Revelations” is a sign that you have been listening to the “doctrines of men” and not the Word of the True and the living God, whose name is YHWH. That is why you believe that “nobody has been taken up to Heaven, ALIVE”. Since you only like the King James Version, I’ll just give you references so you can read them youself:
1. Enoch (Genesis 5:21-24) is the first person who “walked with God” and didn’t die. This was before the Flood at the time of Noah, so many of us take this as a “type” or “kind” or “pattern”, or “object class” of the Rapture of the Church before the Tribulation.
2. Elijah (2 Kings 2:1-12) is taken into Heaven in a whirlwind that looks like a chariot of fire. Elijah comes back with Moses at the Transfiguration of Jesus (Matthew 17:1; Mark 9:1-13; Luke 9:27-36; 2 Peter 1:16-18). Most folks think Elijah will be one of the Two Witnesses who will prophesy one thousand two hundred an sixty days during the Tribulation Period (Revelation 11:1-14) before they are killed, resurrected, and ascend to heaven in a cloud.
3. Jesus Christ, after he was resurrected from the dead, ascends into Heaven in a cloud. (Acts 1:9-11; Mark 16:19-20; Luke 25:50-53)
Various people made visits and returned, the Apostle John (Revelation 4:1) and a man the Apostle Paul knew (2 Corinthians 12:1-4). So the model or pattern for the Rapture of the Church is in there.
As to your complaint that it is taking too long, the Apostle Peter addresses this directly and completely in 2 Peter 3:1-18). Hosea 6:1-2 explains that after the final dispersion of the Jews from the land YHWH will revive them up after two days (i.e. 2000 year) and the third day He will raise them up (i.e. the Millennial Kingdom).
So you are correct, we have been in the End Times since Jesus left. The signs that He is coming really, really soon are many: Israel is back in the Land, Every nation hates them, it has been 2000 years since Jesus ascended, there is a great Apostasy underway in the Church, public morality is rapidly achieving the levels of Sodom and Gomorrah, men messing around with human-animal chimera plus general wickedness are reaching the levels of the Days of Noah, and the Great Sign in the Heavens from Revelation 12:1-2 will actually happen on September 23-24, 2017.
Given the severe consequences of missing the Way, the Truth, and the Life, I think that all of this belongs in “News”, and Good News at that. Maranatha!
