Yes........unfortunately you did get it right. These idiots have no idea about the real world. This “feeling better about one’s self” is whats gotten us into the mess we’re in now. Reparations were made in a Civil War, reparations were made during the fight for equality.....lives lost, blood shed. The debt has been paid, imho.
Of all the peoples of history who were oppressed and eventually freed, I can find none as under-achieving as American blacks. Things seemed to go off the rails around the time the “Great Society” came into being. I don’t think any amount of “reparations” will help them get their act together. Their so-called leaders totally bamboozled them for their own gain.

Then let’s start w/history rather than reparations. Slavery has been around more than 5000+ years, since the Akkadians, Persians, Egyptians; among other Ancients. It was common in Africa by the 6th century when some tribal type realized a buck could be made by selling prisoners of war, rather than killing them. All he needed was a transportation system. Then the Arab Corsairs appeared along the Coast of Mozambique and, presto, a business was born.
Now according to my arithmetic some 1200 years elapsed between 1783 and the 6th century. So the reparations bill should first be presented to the Africans. Next send it to the British Crown. And by the way, best of luck!!!

Adjust for inflation, assume we’re paying even more than that now, etc I’d hazard a guess that we’ve been spending the inflation-and-population-adjusted equivalent of $1T/yr for the last 150 years. So...is the equivalent of $150,000,000,000,000 enough? does that cover reparations sufficiently? Can we be done with this nonsense yet, and say we’ve completed it such that everyone from now on is duly compensated and their lives are their own concern now? if not, then let’s start by establishing exactly what constitutes “acceptance criteria” to wit what suffices for done-and-over-with.

Well with shows about slavery recently circulating like The Undergound and Roots no wonder. The scritpt and the idea for The Underground was written by a black female and several off the executive producers are black. Roots Was originally written by a black man (Alex Haley). I have a theory and wife doesn’t believe but thn again this. Whole different world than when the original Roots series aired in the 70’s. I have been telling my wife that the continued bringing up of reparations and the timing of these series is not a oincidence. After Roots airs get ready to hear the gibsmedats whine for their million dollar handouts (forgetting how much we ‘ve already given them in the form of welfare, housing, healthcare and foodstamps by working an extra day a week to pay the taxes that pay or it).
