Fellow Patriots:

Good news! Last night the town of Ipswich sent Article 20 to committee. The town of Longmeadow voted on their three articles and overwhelmingly defeated all three! From LongForLiberty.org:

When we looked around the gymnasium during our votes last night it was surprising, gratifying, and inspiring to see the townspeople of Longmeadow hold up their yellow “VOTE NO” cards to crush the attack on our personal freedoms.

The right to firearms is guaranteed by our constitution, and that was shouted loud and clear.

Today we write to remind you of this important vote, if you are a Longmeadow resident please attend town meeting tonight and vote NO on Articles 29, 30, 31.

If you live in the Longmeadow area, please attend in support, if you know someone who lives in Longmeadow, please encourage them to vote NO on these articles at town meeting!

For more information about Longmeadow please click here.

Ipswich

From IpswichNoOn20:

Article 20 was sent to committee In a near unanimous vote Article 20 was sent committee for further study. The text of the approved motion is below. We will continue to monitor the activities of the committee. The IpswichNOon20 team will diligently watch for any attempts to enact any type of shooting ban in Ipswich.

Return to this site for updates on the progress of the committee.

GOAL would like to thank and congratulate everyone who took the time out of their busy schedules to ensure that our rights were protected from these planned, egregious attacks.

The work is not done! Please remain vigilant, keep an eye on your town warrants, and be ready to organize, this is far from over. Great job all. GOAL

LOL!!

Massachusetts!

Here’s a better story than the blog: http://wwlp.com/2016/05/10/2-of-3-gun-restriction-proposals-rejected-in-longmeadow/

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Longmeadow voters decided on three proposals at town meeting Tuesday night, which were meant to add restrictions on gun owners and businesses. All three were rejected by a majority vote.

Residents first voted to reject Article 29, which was a bylaw that would impose fines for anyone who carried a firearm on town property.

They also voted to reject Article 30, a bylaw that would have forced gun owners to describe, in writing, each gun they own when they renew their gun license or apply for an FID card.

The other proposed article rejected, Article 31, was meant to ban assault rifles in town, and would have imposed a $300 fine for each day the gun is in town.

Some feared the bylaws took away their Second Amendment rights, while others thought the proposals would improve public safety.

Norman Spencer, who opposes gun restriction, told 22News, “A lot of this gives that away, and gives us nothing. No protection, nothing.”

Bunny Bewick, who wants tighter gun laws, said, “I am anti-weapons of mass destruction. I think that because of safety, certainly, and maybe a little moral issue in there somewhere.”

As of October of last year, there were 958 registered gun owners with a Class A license to carry in Longmeadow.

Had any of the articles passed, the proposals would have been taken to the Attorney General’s office for review.

Also Tuesday night, the town approved their FY17 budget of $62 million.

Wasn’t it Massachusetts that rose against the gun confiscation the British intended to impose? And wasn’t that the proximate cause of the opening of the American Revolution?
Forward, march!

That was then this is now. Ma is a very anti-gun ownership state. FOID cards the whole 9 yards. I'm quite surprised that as many people voted down the restrictions as did.

On a further note "Bunny Bewick who wanted to further restrict the freedom of her fellow citizens should go to the head of the list of those who keep such lists in that town.

The problem is that there are never any significant consequences for jackasses like Bewick. Gun control doesn't pass? so what? She and her ilk will just try again. If it passes freedom is chipped away even further. Someone needs to find a way to take away stuff that the anti-gunners treasure.

Yes, that’s unfortunate, isn’t it.
My daughter is in Boston, working for a university and is a US Army Reserve LTC with two tours in the Middle East - one in Balad, Iraq (where they were under continual fire)and one in Kuwait. She gets around fine at 5’11”. :-)
We’re three generational military.

Surprised!

I live in New York near the Mass border, we see a lot of Mass plates coming in for work.

Worst drivers, driving slow in the fast lane, playing spoiler -good democrat thinkers!

See they gat about 30% more unemployment benefits in Mass. They know to live in Mass work long enough to qualify for unemployment.

This, also, is how NY makes unemployment numbers appear artificially low.

We commonly call these people Massholes.
