Ted Cruz is not releasing his delegates before the GOP convention
CNN ^ | 5/10/2016 | Theodore Scleifer

Ted Cruz is not releasing his delegates in at least three states, a sign he may hold onto some clout at this summer's Republican National Convention.

Cruz sent a letter to Republican state parties in at least Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas on Monday informing them that he plans to keep the delegates he won bound to him...

Trump is the presumptive nominee and is on a path to clinch the 1,237 delegates needed to earn it on the first ballot, but holding on to his delegates could help Cruz exercise at least some control over convention rules and procedures.

Are you sure?

I’m sure about Rubio.
I read it somewhere about Christie, but I don’t remember where, and I don’t remember if it was a reliable the source.

You are right about that. It’s all public record. In AZ, where it looks like you’re from, nobody was trusting anyone at that State Convention. I told my District that my County went for Trump 65% to 35%. I, as an elected officials, would NEVER go against the will of the people, that would be political suicide, not to mention incredibly stupid. The majority wanted Trump and we should and will honor that vote. I mean, how can we, as PC’s go out and register people vote with the mantra of “YOUR VOTE COUNTS” and in the next breath undermine that vote. If you want the Party to pick the nominee, fine. But if you are going to have public elections paid for by the citizens of the County, you must respect the vote, always.

Cruz believes he should be king. He will do everything in his power to make that so. He does not believe a word of the platform he has campaigned on and it becomes more obvious every day.

Unfortunately, there are many of his supporters who lack critical thinking skills and will follow him to hell if asked. They believe every word that he has spoken and disregard all evidence to the contrary.

He and they will do their best to burn this country down instead of working to save it.

History is not going to be kind for Ted Cruz. This is why our founders placed that ‘natural born’ US citizen, requirement in our Constitution.

I don’t trust the GOP until the convention is over and Trump is officially the nominee. Lots of rumbling about Cruz running a shadow campaign and still running his amazing ground game - Delegate Theft!! This is why people in these remaining primary states must get out and vote. Lets send Trump to the convention with record breaking votes and majority of delegates. It will also build momentum for the general.

I don't know the details of FEC filings, and whether "suspending" is even an official action requiring a filing of some sort.

Clearly, suspending involves letting paid staffers go, which affects cashflow that is reported eventually. I suppose Cruz can reactivate his campaign with only him and a few key staffers getting paid.

Ross Perot suspended and restarted his campaign, so I suppose it's possible. However, when Rubio suspended there were states that had rules for reallocating delegates to the remaining candidates. I don't think that reallocated delegates would be given back to a candidate who comes back. I don't recall any stories about states reallocating Cruz delegates the way they reported Alaska after Rubio suspended. Maybe Trump should look into whether states with reallocation rules followed through with the Cruz delegates.

NO. Trump is in this to win. He is NOT interested in left overs. And neither am I. Cruz really needs to fulfill that oath of office he took and get back to work. His PAID vacation is OVER.

“He gets a seat at the table for that. Wouldn’t Trump demand the same if he were in second?”

Trump has never shown an interest in table scraps. He has said that if it was clear he couldn’t win he would just drop out. This isn’t a career for him, unlike Cruz.

“Trump was being kind to the loser. Cruz has not congratulated the winner! Basic manners!”

What a foreign concept these days, good sportsmanship, basic manners! When I was growing up, those basics were the difference between higher class people and peons ie: drunks, thieves, prostitutes, lazy/slovenly, non motivated. You could tell class differences by those simple, basic social skills.

I’m NOT being sarcastic.

Cruz might dress nice, but you can’t take him out in public.

Question for you on challenged or disqualified delegates.

If numerous delegates are disqualified on 1st ballot...it then goes to 2nd ballot and delegates are free to choose?
Unbound??

He was on vacation when he was supposed to be working too.

.

Committee assignments:

According to transcripts as reported by Politico, in his first two years in the Senate, Cruz attended 17 of 50 public Armed Services Committee hearings, 3 of 25 Commerce Committee hearings, 4 of the 12 Judiciary Committee hearings, and missed 21 of 135 roll call votes during the first three months of 2015.[113]

I think I’ll take what Trump says at face value rather than accept your reinterpretation of what Trump said.
