I can remember a time when there were moderates in the democrat party. I can remember when, Bill Clinton, packaged himself as a "New Democrat" in order to get elected. In other words a non extreme non identity politics democrat (yes it was mostly a scam, but the fact that he NEEDED to do so at the time to get elected is what is important) and he even went out of his way to diss "Sista Souljah" a black racist to show his bona fides. (While in contrast Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton both went out of their way to pander to the left wing hate group Black Lives Matter on multiple occasions)
In those days I believe there were two kinds of liberals. The extreme vile racial identity democrats like Sharpton and Jackson. But IMO at the time there were others who either did not like identity politics or at least did not go along with it entirely.
Today within the democratic party there are no moderates. Indeed within liberalism as well, IMO there are no non-racial identity liberals.
This to me is a marked change over the last 20 to 30 years. Now it seems nearly every liberal out there refuses to argue anything. Instead they just try to twist every issue into something they can exploit by proclaiming any opposition to be motivated by racism, Islamophobia, sexism or homophobia. And of course, therefore needing to be silenced.
It’s stupid to call it liberalism. It has nothing to do with liberalism.
JFK was the last true "moderate" Democrat. Carter and Clinton were both scams who outed themselves after their elections were over, and Obama came riding in on the color of his skin and his hope and change.
But this is where Trump comes in. He is the Truman democrat of the 21st century, and the only home for Truman democrats is the Republican Party, because the Democrats have become the Marxist-Progressive Party. He is to the left of Reagan, to the left of Cruz, but to the right of practically everyone else in the GOPe, much less the Democrats, so he is at least one step in the right direction (in both senses of "right"), and he may well be many more steps in that direction before he is through--that would please this Cruzer-on-the-Trump-train no end.

Where are those not so moonbat Democrats? Where are people such as Sam Nunn or Scoop Jackson? Would they fit into today’s Democrat party???
That’s why they’re always surprised when race and gender doesn’t deliver them a win.

The thing is, once the other side starts playing identity politics - our side (i.e., the Republicans) SURE AS HELL better start playing the same game, or we’ll get CRUSHED non-stop - with them getting 90% of the black vote and pushing 80% of Hispanic vote (in areas like California)...and then more or less splitting the white vote since the Republicans don’t give a damn about white working class voters.
...but we can play the same game. For the Dems to be all things to all people, means that they can’t do jack for one Identity Group - whites. While the Republican IDIOTS spent their time trying to figure out how to get a few crumbs from Democrat Identity Groups, Trump figured out that if you actually address the needs of WHITE VOTERS, who are still 70% of the electorate, you have the opportunity to win and win big.
Collectivism is the political ideology that uses groups in order to manage power relationships in society. 21st century Liberalism, Socialism, Communism, and Fascism are all collectivist ideologies. They use Group Identities in order to shift power from one group to another. They all play groups off each other so that the political elite can stay on top.
Individualism is the political ideology that diffuses political power away from the political elites and seeks to minimize the importance of groups. Rational individuals making rational decisions. Traditional Conservatism is really the only game in town for this ideology.
It’s always been binary, but The Powers That Be try to mask this so that people are not fully aware of the manipulation.

IMO think the real home for moderate democrats is now the republican party.
It’s a shame it’s worked out this way. One would think that the democrat party would have marginalized itself by becoming too extreme. But instead the republican party has become more liberal.

Anyone Pro-America is usually fine by me. I can typically find mutual respect and common ground to work from with anyone Left or Right so long as that fundamental outlook is shared.
(If they were ideologically Left/Right, that’d be a different matter of course).
Actually, Cicero stated how to destroy civil society.
All you have to do is destroy the “Justice” System (legal system) and make it into a Vice System. (That is the only way Cloward/Piven can exist-—is with a corrupt legal system).
That is what the Justices in USA did (and the “Law” skools), such as with the evil Justice Holmes and his “thinking” which removed Reality/Truth and Christian Virtue for Socialism/group-think/Humanism (no Good and Evil). After all the Marxists/socialists on the Supreme Court and in Congress, and the Executive office-—we have no “Justice” System left—so civil society will be destroyed as Cicero stated it would be.
You can’t have a Justice System which promotes a “Just Law” that promotes theft/slavery/usng others as an abomination (a thing/object/Means/Slave), in dehumanizing ways—like in sodomy and abortion (baby killing) and promote morality in children. It won’t happen. They will be corrupted and grow up with minds like the Afghanis-—who were in boy harems growing up who learn to hate and mutilate women and girls and use boys in vile, evil, pagan, dehumanizing ways.
You can not “normalize” evil “Just” (lol) Law——and have a “civil” society.
That is the BASIC problem in America-—our legal system was taken over by the Progressives to warp and destroy the Minds of any children raised in such an irrational, evil environment. It is why the Weimar Republic created Hitler-—the toxic, homo-erotic, immoral culture of Weimar corrupted the children, removed Virtue formation from their Prussian indoctrination skools (which we adopted and now Marxist curricula, Common Core is shaping the worldview of ALL our children).
A Vice System (like ours) will create immoral, puerile masses who believed any irrational statement made by people in power—the sodomite psychopathic politicians who are funding all the Boy-Sex Rings around the World. (CIA —UN funded-—to traumatize the next generation (esp. destroy moral mature masculinity) to create slave-mentality. All sodomite cultures like islam today and the Spartans/Samurai of yesterday is all about Domination of the male population-—to make the masses slaves to the elites and to pit males against females (extreme sexist cultures). (Marxism is to destroy unity—all cohesion, esp. in male and female so all children are emotionally crippled and warped (irrational) and can never understand Reality (Common Sense/male/female dynamics). Normalizing sodomy (homosexual “marriage”/an oxymoron) inserts irrational emotions, evil ideology, emasculates and subjugates the boys (pederasty is a fixture in homosexual “cultures”, and traumatizes them and creates addicts/slaves to base irrational emotions and hatred for women.

Identity politics is basically an applied form of Marxian social conflict theory (i.e.: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_theories).
It’s used in electoral politics because it’s tended to be very effective on the groups its fabricated for. Remember that Democrats are consummate political pragmatists; if it didn’t work, they’d be using a different tact.
Marxian social theory construes society as a dynamic totality of conflict between its constituent classes wherein each seeks to advance their own interests in a zero-sum world of binary winner/loser outcomes.
Naturally, anyone convinced of that worldview is going to see identity politics in everything.

they pit non whites against whites, women against men, non-Christians against Christians and poor against wealthy.
Of course the anti-white one is the very top of the list. If, and I sadly suspect they will continue, the demographics of America keep going in their present direction, liberals will become increasingly hostile to whites.
Though, I have to wonder if at some point they will end up eating their own. Right now a person can be rich, white, male, even Christian as long as they absolve these sins by becoming liberals. I have to wonder if at some point they will fall prey to their own philosophy if that absolution gets taken away.
