Washington (CNN) Sarah Palin will work to defeat House Speaker Paul Ryan by backing his primary opponent in Wisconsin, the former Alaska governor told CNN's Jake Tapper.
Palin said in an interview that airs Sunday on "State of the Union" that her decision was sparked by Ryan's bombshell announcement to Tapper last week that he wasn't yet ready to support Donald Trump, the Republican presumptive nominee. Palin endorsed Trump back in January.
"I think Paul Ryan is soon to be 'Cantored,' as in Eric Cantor," Palin said, referring to the former Republican House majority leader who was ousted in a shocking upset in 2014 when challenger Dave Brat ran to his right in a Virginia primary.

The civil war in the GOP has been one-sided so far, with establishment types throttling conservatives in primaries all over the place. As more conservatives wake up to how chummy the GOP establishment has been with Democrats, the battle is being joined.

Ryan is Cryan. He is real concerned about his own challenge to win in the fall. Trump could carry many of many of these Republicans if there is a landslide.
If Trump goes down, he could take the House and Senate with him.

I expect people have pretty much chosen sides in the upcoming floor fight at the Republican National Convention.
So sorry, I really don’t have a dog in this fight. Some 95% of the woe the Republican Party is undergoing at the moment is self-induced.
For years, they played “go along to get along”, and it earned them ZILCH in either influence or respect. Even those who termed themselves to be “conservative” wilted and caved almost as soon as they got to Washington.
I don’t know what “conservative” even means any more. I used to think it included a more or less realistic view of the world, but “real” has come to have a rather amorphous meaning.
The old order changes, and only chaos fulls the voids now.
