Romanian hacker who claims he breached Clinton server says he spoke with FBI at length

EXCLUSIVE: The Romanian hacker who says he easily breached Hillary Clinton’s personal email server also claimed, in a series of interviews with Fox News, that he spoke with the FBI at length on the plane when extradited from Romania to Virginia last month.

"They came after me, a guy from the FBI, from the State Department," 44-year-old Marcel Lehel Lazar, who goes by the moniker "Guccifer," told Fox News during a jailhouse phone interview. He said the conversation was "80 minutes ... recorded," and he took his own notes.

A government source confirmed that the hacker had a lot to say on the plane but provided no other details. Lazar was flown to the U.S. to face separate cyber-crime charges.

In addition to the apparent conversation with the FBI on the plane, Fox News has learned a meeting was expected as early as this week at the Alexandria, Va., detention center where he’s being held involving Guccifer, the FBI, the U.S. attorney and the defendant’s court-appointed lawyer.

These officials have not commented on his clams or detention.

An intelligence source close to the investigation, speaking with Fox News last month, questioned the timing of Lazar’s extradition to the U.S., coming amid the Clinton email probe. As for what was discussed on that plane, Lazar said he told a State Department representative on the plane about "hot" data, some of which was hidden in Google drives, and other data that was too sensitive and deleted. The hacker, who offered no proof for his claims, said cryptically that he could not say more.

Yes. He did not actually hack into accounts. Instead he guessed password or answers to security questions. Going from one person to other interesting people from their email lists

Only 14 miles to Ft. Marcy Park from Alexandria. Less if one can levitate directly there....

Ya know?

I don’t care if he hacked EVERY GOPe member of Congress.

LET IT COME OUT..!

Yeah, after the news that the GOP actively colluded in IRS harassment of the Tea Party, I DO NOT CARE what happens to the GOP.

No wait —I DO CARE— I hope they get as busted as the dems, since they’re not a bit different.

LET IT COME OUT, MAKE MY DAY..!!

Those you mention have an important thing in common: no college education. Taxi driver in former Communist country is an expert hacker? Makes sense to me. Brains plus good education in sciences and maths plus slow economy = taxi driver with lots of time to lurk about. Heck, maybe he's an agent of a foreign government? What do we really know?

During the interview with Fox, Lazar mentioned he was able to record 10 different IP intrusions from other parts of the world.

Were I more of an optimist, I'd like your theory. And I WANT to believe your theory.

But I see more and more of the University system as a huge, cynical engine of indoctrination. In over a dozen different ways, I guess.

And I think he was a bright, creative man who saw opportunities once open to him closing. But having stayed out of college and grad school, he hadn't been conditioned into revering the whole bloody system.

And very much of Romania still remembers Ceausescu, and many of them mistrust authority. And so I think he simply turned his creativity on the people who prominently presented themselves as these paragons and who were nothing of the sort.

If Hillary had no problem sending an innocent man to prison to cover up Benghazi, she will have not problem sending Huma to prison to cover up her own violations of national security laws.

” The Clinton campaign has rejected Lazar’s claims, calling them “baseless” and emphasizing he is a convicted hacker.”

The jokes just write themselves.

The FBI just wanted to find out who else has seen the secret photos of Hillary and Huma

If that is the case, let me fix the article a bit...

Lazar said he told a State Department representative on the plane about "hot" data, some of which was hidden in Google drives, and other data that was too sensitive hideous to look at and deleted.

I don't believe I've ever seen how Guccifer got caught? Anybody know? Did he out himself by boasting? Was it through the Blumenthal emails? There would have had to have been some way of tracking the path to the NYT or Benghazi Committee when they got ahold of them; it's not clear. There's probably a lot they aren't telling.

The first article by FOX didn't say anything about the 2gb being in any cloud.

I was wondering how he could have breached the password without being locked out. The only way I know is if he didn't find the pw, he would have had to repeatedly try different combinations of letters, numbers and special characters. FOX article said he used a proxy server in Russia (evidently to hide who and where he was) and did a forget password request then either intercepted that or had it sent to himself somehow.

Or forget all that because he used an IP scanner to find out which ports on her server were open and got in that way so he didn't have to go in through the "front" door of Hillary's or anyone he had an IP address for. I think domain IP addresses remain static. Mine changes (or was changing last I checked a few years ago) every day. They call mine a dynamic IP. Even if it changes, some key numbers remain the same like the telephone company and city in my case. With Wifi and other providers, I don't know how it works for IP addresses.

He said he used programs or web tools readily available on the web.
