I think Trump should pick Jeff Sessions and have Jeff Wear pants suit and call himself Jane and play it off as a big joke. Are the dems going to attack our first transgender women VP? I think not.

Just kidding btw.

Please don't compare Cruz to Reagan!

Reagan was running against a sitting President and still almost won the nomination.

Cruz never had a chance.

At this point, I think it’s time for people stop bashing Cruz, now that he finally did the right thing.

I am glad Cruz decided to stop his campaign — this is better for everyone, including his own future.

I agree with you there. No woman on the ticket, no minority. Many places in the world do not respect either and we currently need to promote respect for our country and our leadership.

He ran a terrible campaign. But even worse, yesterday he made statements I’ve never heard any candidate make. To me, he ruined his political career, which may be for the best.

I do feel bad for most Cruz supporters here, as I believe them to be far more honest and ideologically pure than the guy they backed.

I could have lived peacefully with a Cruz presidency.

Is this a semi-opus? Why not just disappear given all you are doing is inflating your sense of self by suggesting anybody would miss your vote. I also read in your remarks how much better you think of yourself than those who have actually accomplished quite a bit in their lives and put themselves out there to run for president.

Guess what. Nobody cares. I can't even say, "Thanks for sharing." Here's a tiny clue for you: Trump's position on the issues is a lot closer to Reagan than Cruz ever would have been. Reagan put America first. Cruz is a globalist by word and deed. Reagan slapped more tariffs than any modern president. The word tariff stuck in Cruz's throat.

Cruz tried to cloak his open borders and globalist record by hiding behind religion. Reagan seldom went to church. Fact is, you were fooled. Think about it and change... or, just stay home.

Now that he’s got to fire all of his staff, having brought Carly the Layoff Queen on board makes Cruz look like a genius...

I'm a Cruz (but not a Carly) fan, but that was funny.

EXACTOMUNDO!

Lyin' Ted & Heidi have always been Bushie Establishmentarians with a direct connection to the Goldman-Sachs NO BORDERS NAU.

We just completed Step 1 of our hostile takeover of the GOP from the Establishmentarians.

To allow any Establishmentarians like Lyin' Ted & Heidi back into any position of power would be suicide and defeat our original goal.

Trying to reduce my thoughts to not too many words:

Cruz is a "do what it takes to win" pol. It's extremely repulisive to those who want to restore US values, like a sense of fair play.

Meanwhile, Trump's a counter-puncher. That's more in line with traditional US attitude.

That’s why he’ll undoubtedly be back to try for the presidency again. But this bid is moribund. It’s time for Cruz to rest in peevishness.

The bad news is there's no chance of Frank Bruni, who wrote this article, giving his petty peevishness a rest.

If you want to win sympathy for somebody who's not very likable, kick him when he's down -- and keep on kicking him.

That and asking his dad about the good old days on the Grassy Knoll.

No time for that, he's setting up the Fair Play for Cruz committee.

Cruz will be back. Maybe next time the voters will be ready for him. I remember that the voters spurned Reagan in 76.

He's going to need a complete image makeover like Nixon bought in 68. Stranger things have happened.
