Ben Sasse: I said I was #NeverTrump and I meant it [R-NE]
Hot Air ^ | May 4, 2016 | Allahpundit

I remember grassroots conservatives celebrating when he was elected two years ago because it meant adding another Republican to the Senate who takes his principles seriously. Now here’s Sasse last night reiterating that he takes his principles seriously enough not to vote for a big-government liberal just because he’s the party’s nominee and he’ll be excoriated for it.

Oh well. The principled choice is rarely the popular one.

I’m in Omaha now; it is a weird city.

It does seem rich that Sasse should live out being a big government liberal, and then take exception to Donald Trump on the same basis. To actually BE conservative today would be obvious; one wouldn’t have to bellow over and over how conservative one is.

So Sasse will therefore also be opposing Trump’s running mate, the Republican candidate for President of the Senate (Vice President of the USA). If he persists in this, I think he should lose his committee assignments and be expelled from the GOP Senate caucus. Otherwise, we will have a Republican in the Senate refusing to support Republican efforts to control the Senate (including by losing the Vice President’s tie-breaking power). He needs a good talking-to from The Turtle.

That Sasse bio just screams hard-core commie, start to finish, regardless how in-the-closet he has been. Another damn commie infiltrator.

What I love about these safe zone conservatives with their principles is that they would rather sacrifice the country, and the welfare of millions of voters so that they can be pure in heart.

I have said it many time of Limbaugh, and Levin. If they are so committed to their principles let them run for office and show us just how well their principles work in the real world.

Funny thing Limbaugh and Levin never seem to be that confident when confronted with this challenge.

Sasse is no different. His precious principles won’t hold up in the battlefield.

You can ADD Sen Corey Gardner R CO to the list who will not support Trump.

I called his office again today.
Asked the minion “Ben” if the Senator will support Trump or KILLARY?

The little fella said that campaign laws prevent the Senator from commenting from his federally funded office.

I asked if Ben could get a question to the Senator and find out.

Nope, can’t take a call like this and ask the Senator the question.

I ask yet again, HOW can I find out if my elected official, that WORKS FOR ME, is going to support Don or Killary?

Still, not able to answer my question. Apparently they do not like getting calls like mine.

I can’t stand this Ben Sasse. He was so ticked that his attendance at the “secret” Sea Island conference to Stop Trump was made public! What a hypocrite!! And now, whining and voting for Hillary! You lost your man card, Ben! And all your credibility as a “conservative”!

LOL. He has. Sasse is leading McConnell’s kabuki run against Trump cover plan.

The Turtle and Sasse are both up for reelection in 2020, I believe. Knocking off McCain in his primary this year would certainly send McConnell a message. BTW, turtle is not a great nickname for McConnell because turtles have spines whereas he is a complete squish. But he certainly bears an uncanny resemblance to one.

Handy list to have, actually. People get cross sometimes when we refer to The Establishment without providing any specific names. This is The Establishment.

No one has to like Trump, they just have to accept him as better than Hillary Rodham Clinton more. He’ll have four years to outperform expectations.

I didn't "like" Nixon, but voted for him twice because the alternative was unthinkable.

I’ll say this about Little Ben Sassy: He’s found a way to make himself famous. No one outside Nebraska had ever heard of him before his little jihad against Trump. One good thing about his little publicity stunt: He has exposed himself for the Open Borders, Globalist, Liberal traitor that he is.

The best thing about this election is that the masks have come off & the cuckservatives have been exposed.

[Trump is a] a big-government liberal

Why is this guy smoking Trump-hater talking points?

Trump will:

Build a wall.
enforce the law.
deport them all.
end sanctuary cities.
end anchor babies.
moratorium on muslim immigration.
cut the taxes.
cut the spending.
cut the regulations.
cut the government.
cut the debt.
cut the epa.
repeal obamacare.
get the feds out and allow health insurance to be sold over state lines.
send education back to states.
get a handle on trade.
make trade deals in our own interests.
bring back capital.
bring back manufacturing.
bring back jobs.
strengthen the economy.
defend the second amendment
defend religious freedom.
appoint constitutional conservative judges.
rebuild our military.
bomb the shit out of isis.
end political correctness.
take the gop head-on.
take the media head-on.
take the liberals head-on.
and win, baby, win.

all of the above on a shoestring budget compared to most of the 16 competitors he’s beaten.
no pacs.
no big donors.

what’s democrat about any of the above?
What’s not conservative?
what’s not to like?
