Trump's impending nomination means it's time for a third candidate
Washington Post ^ | May 3, 2016 | Eliot A. Cohen

Posted on 05/03/2016 7:43:44 PM PDT by kevcol

Eliot A. Cohen served in the Defense and State departments in the George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush administrations, respectively.

It's over. Donald Trump, a man utterly unfit for the position by temperament, values and policy preferences, will be the Republican nominee for president. He will run against Hillary Clinton, who is easily the lesser evil but is trailed by clouds of scandal and misconduct and whose party's left wing poses its own threats to liberties of speech, religion, enterprise and association.

It is time for a third candidate, and probably for a third party.

Well, I can’t believe the Dems just accept already that they lose this year. If they don’t try to split Trump’s vote, then Hillary bows out “for health reasons” and they run someone else...

This guy worked in the Defense and State departments and he thinks the Heroine of Benghazi, Hillary “Secret E-Mail Server” Clinton is easily the lesser evil???

These Bushies have lost their minds, but then we know how much the Bush camp loves the Clinton crime family.

A Rat Party operative who understands that three names on the ballot is the Former Twelfth Lady’s only chance?

Using three names is a signal that the person is a mass murderer, anarchist or other notable person:

John Wayne Gacy
Lee Harvey Oswald
Timothy James McVeigh
Hillary Rodham Clinton

“...a man utterly unfit for the position by temperament, values and policy preferences...” For any real student of American history, it would be interesting to note that the very same things - and some much, much worse - were said about a former, highly-revered president... Abraham Lincoln

It was often said about Lincoln that he loved to tell dirty jokes and stories and was often profane, “bawdy”, indecorous and irreverent. And, while I’m not among the many who consider him our greatest president, most Americans seem to believe that he was one of, if not THE, best president in American history.

Wow. The Uniparty is being revealed in all its potent villainy.

Indeed. If Trump has done nothing else, he has exposed the corruption the oligarchy has spread to stay in power.

and he won mainly because of Kasich

well, actually but for Kasich Trump would have won before this, as he cleaned Ted’s clock in Ohio, but why let facts destroy a good tall tale...

Might just be a Democratic ploy, the way they tried to destroy George Bush as a prelude to Obama’s run. I am very suspicious this election cycle, and for good reason. Libs stir up the Republicans, try to keep them divided - feeds right into Hilary’s run.

For amusement, I just listened to the first few minutes of Michael Medved. He's suggesting Gary Johnson (Libertarian) as the third party candidate who will preserve the status quo with respect to international trade and borders policies.

After turning him off I found I had received an email from the Libertarian Party with their reaction to the resignations of Cruz and Kasich. They are saying they will offer a third party candidate who will preserve the status quo with respect to international trade and borders policies.

Assuming Gary Johnson is the Libertarian nominee, it sounds like the GOPe already has its candidate.

“Another PNAC founder, Eliot Cohen, counselor to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice from 2007 to 2009, wrote the foreword to the Romney campaign’s foreign policy white paper, which was titled, perhaps not coincidentally, “An American Century.” Cohen was a tutor to Bush administration neocons.”

When they lose, they sabotage.

This is all about Trump's saying he would put America first. Eliot hates that, and sees those as fighting words. He cares not a whit for social issues, immigration issues, the economy, jobs, abortion, 2nd amendment, etc. Eliot Cohen is, and always has been, a one issue guy. Michael Medved is one of the ‘3rd Party’ Republicans. Hilarious hypocrisy if you know his past shrill putdowns of third parties.

But now GOPe mouthpiece Medved is talking of voting for Gary Johnson.

Interesting.

I hadn’t heard Medved talk about supporting the “losertarian” Johnson.

It’s all so interesting.
