I was not so sure he was hard line on securing the border or deporting illegals to begin with, but when he would not come out and say what he would do, I was done considering him.
I live where the border security is a big deal, and it should be a big deal to everyone in this country. If we don’t have a secure border we really don’t have a country. We can make our country safer by deporting illegals. We can also save so much money and free up so many jobs if we deport illegals.
Carly cost Cruz California. We hate her with heat of a thousand suns. Ted just isn’t very smart when it comes to politics.
Good Lord, no. That's a Politico reporter looking through a culture lens. It was never much of an issue at all until the culture warriors used it to stir up trouble, which was not an issue of social justice but one of hatred and political activism against those of us with the temerity to be normal. Ted may have outraged a few trendy liberals who weren't going to vote for him anyway, but that's about it.
Keeping illegal aliens criminals away from our children is a far bigger issue.
I was a Cruz supporter most of the way and I turned on exactly what you say. Scorching the earth and being purposely divisive are not going to help the Republican Party beat Hillary.
Precisely. The United States faces an existential threat from uncontrolled illegal immigration because demographics is destiny, a lesson Europe is learning to its enduring sorrow. Unless we address that, along with trade and the rise of radical Islam, nothing else matters. So we prioritize.
Ironically, once you have a secure and prosperous country of people focused on opportunity and success, you'll be amazed at how easily so many of these cultural "problems" will melt away.
I noshed on the moist pudding that had the texture of mucus. It was made with yolk and curd and I slurped up the dripping, viscous treat.
(My daughter would be strangling me right about now. lol!)
“So opposing transgender restroom rights derailed Ted in Indiana? Does anyone actually believe that?”
I don’t think it is the fact that he opposed it that turns people off.
It’s the way he always states his position on an issue in the context of what he claims “Donald’s” position is.
It’s obvious right away that he cares more about trying to make Trump look bad than he does about the issue itself.
So he manages to come off as a political opportunist, a tattle tale, a holier than thou preacher, and insincere - all at the same time.
If he had brought up the issue himself things may have turned out differently, but time after time he just comes off as a rat fink.
Just stating my opinion here, we did not use to refer to folks who called out liberal, semi-liberal or even a smidgen liberal positions as rat finks on Free Republic.
Point well taken. I apologize for getting carried away. Thanks for the polite reminder.
