Is America ready for President Graham?
Jewish World review ^ | April 26, 2015 | George Will

Posted on 05/02/2016 3:15:11 AM PDT by detective

In 1994, Lindsey Graham, then a 39-year-old South Carolina legislator, ran for Congress in a district that he said had not elected a Republican since Union guns made it do so during Reconstruction. He promised that in Washington he would be "one less vote for an agenda that makes you want to throw up." He was elected to the Senate in 2002 and soon almost certainly will join the Republican presidential scramble, enlivening it with his quick intelligence, policy fluency, mordant wit and provocative agenda.

He has the normal senatorial tendency to see a president in the mirror and an ebullient enjoyment of campaigning's rhetorical calisthenics. Another reason for him to run resembles one of Dwight Eisenhower's reasons. Graham detects a revival of the Republicans' isolationist temptation that has waned since Eisenhower defeated Ohio's Sen. Robert Taft for the 1952 nomination.

"will join the Republican presidential scramble, enlivening it with his quick intelligence, policy fluency, mordant wit and provocative agenda."

This is from about a year ago but it shows who George Will supported and still supports.

George Will wanted to see President Lindsey Graham and wanted to help Lindsey win the presidency. But Trump is the popular choice instead and George Will can't stand it.

Will is now telling Republicans that if Trump is the nominee Republicans must make sure Trump loses all 50 states.

“Will is now telling Republicans that if Trump is the nominee Republicans must make sure Trump loses all 50 states.

If that’s what he is saying, it’s disgusting and a betrayal. It also means that Trump should not let any GOP insiders into his campaign, as they may willfully sabotage it.

George’s anus must have slammed closed. What else could explain this verbal and mental diarrhea spewing forth from him?

George Will is as irrelevant as all the rest of the RINOs and wonks that tried to pawn off Jeb Bush, et al on us in a slate where 17 entered, and one man will emerge.

I have gotten done with a few faux conservatives in the last few months-add George Will to the list. Opposing Trump at this point means ensuring the election of Hillary Clinton.

George Will slots in just below Ben Shapiro on the Cuck with a Keyboard ladder. Trump has done America a great service by exposing these pseuds.

Read Will’s whole year-old piece, however, and he isn’t exactly making the case for Graham.

Will is a despicable fraud re:, for example, his attempted takedowns of Trump, however.

You know we have fun here on FR trying to guess who will be POTUS and VP and all the machinations. It is harmless, sometimes we are right, but most of the time ( me included ) it never turns out they way you think, it is our version of fantasy football.

But to have an establishmentarian this late in the game play this would-a-could-a-should-a denotes they truly can't stand Trump. They know they are going too loose power and they are over, and are irrelevant, and massive change is potentially coming to Disney on the Potomac and they are in the "5 stages" and are either in Denial or Shock, or both...

Classic stuff. I’d love to see some of Will’s columns predicting Trump’s demise as well. Good for a belly laugh.

Well, if Graham is selected to run at least we will know his position on restroom liberties. If nothing else Lindsey Graham would want a definitive answer on “where the boys are”.

“Read Will’s whole year-old piece, however, and he isn’t exactly making the case for Graham.

Will is a despicable fraud re:, for example, his attempted takedowns of Trump, however.”

He is endorsing Graham in his George Will erudite kind of way.

Will has called on Republicans to make sure Trump loses all 50 states.

“Were he to be nominated, conservatives would have two tasks. One would be to help him lose 50 states — condign punishment for his comprehensive disdain for conservative essentials, including the manners and grace that should lubricate the nation’s civic life. Second, conservatives can try to save from the anti-Trump undertow as many senators, representatives, governors and state legislators as possible.”
