At Salisbury University in Maryland, someone drew a body hanging from a noose, with the n-word, and a “white power” hashtag.

Everyone at the college was upset over this, and justifiably so.
However, after it was discovered that the two people who drew the image and wrote the words were black, some of the people who had been upset, stopped being upset.
The social justice warriors no longer seemed to care.
The school police said that no charges will be filed.
And the school refuses to name the two students.
In my opinion, the fact that these two students are black should not make any difference in how they are treated.
Regardless of their race, they should be identified, expelled, and charged.
But because they are black, none of those things is happening.
There is definitely a huge double standard going on.

Those two look like a pair from a Milli Vanilli video from 1988.
It doesn’t matter who wrote the words on a white board—they are just words and do not constitute a crime. Any sensible person (that is, someone who is not looking for a cause célèbre) could have easily erased the whiteboard without making a big fuss.
My husband and I were listening to the radio Friday, and whoever was talking had a long list of these fake “hate crimes.” In some cases, people said that they were going to bomb and shoot black people—although threatening people *is* a crime, none of the threateners were charged since the investigations immediately revealed them to be black.
Writing on a white board is not a crime, even if the writing is full of racist blather. Making threats against people is a crime, and should be treated as such regardless of the race of the person making the threats.
I would wonder if any of their teachers might recognize the handwriting, but I also realize that nobody actually uses a writing instrument, not even to sign a welfare check since direct deposit went mandatory...
The words are spelled correctly, so are we really sure?
Writing words is not necessarily a crime.
Prosecuting word-writing people of one race for being accused or even be suspected of writing words, and NOT taking any action at all of people who KNOWN to have “written words”, IS A CRIME.
It is government sanctioned racism.
I am an opponent of “hate crimes”. I believe that laws on the books (and there are a lot of them) cover these types of things and should be used when needed.
Everybody is “baffled” (including the victim) as to what the motive for the beating was.
Very odd. They are all getting whiplash deliberately trying to look away from the obvious and real reason to find some non-racial “reason”.
As if there was a “motive” beyond racism and hatred.

I’m against hate crime laws, and I agree with you that this should not be a crime. However, as long as it is a crime, the law should apply to people of all races. Black people should not be exempt.

Not a crime, but worth considering for expulsion by the university.

There are already plenty of laws on the books to cover criminal activity. Hate crime legislation was never anything more than political theater with a racist intent.
It should go without saying that criminal acts are not based on feelings of love...
We need to add this to the list of fake hate “crimes” designed by liberals to harm us.
