GREENFIELD, Ind. — At a campaign stop just days before the critical Indiana primary, Heidi Cruz, wife of Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, said one of her husband's strengths in the campaign is that he "is an immigrant."

"Ted is an immigrant," Mrs. Cruz said, emphasizing the word "is." "He is Hispanic."

This could be the nail in the Cruz coffin.

Utah lawyer Walter Wagner has a petition for a writ of certiorari before the US Supreme Court in his challenge that Ted Cruz is not a natural born citizen. The petition is on the docket and a response is indicated by May 5, 2016.

True. Mr. Wilson, Cruz momma husband #1, was married to Eleanor for about three years. Most of that time they were in London. After the divorce he (understandably) lost contact with Eleanor. Well, one day he happened to be in the hospital for a procedure and in comes a nurse who congratulates him on his brand new baby boy. He’s like, “WHAT?” and the nurse sez- your wife just delivered! So he put two and two together. They had been divorced about two years when Eleanor had the child. He kept quiet and kindly let her usurp his name and freely gave her the stolen dignity. She never knew that he knew.

The baby died at under one year of age, and Eleanor moved back to Texas. Within less than one year she had met Cruz Sr. and moved off to Canada with him to start a new business.

All factual.

Of all answers, I think this closest to the truth.

Well, having alive in the 60's, I can assure you that very few people were discussing the natural born citizen clause.

I want you to believe what you wish. I would have no objection to your believing that Castro is Cruz's real father. It really doesn't matter to me what you conclude. I just ask that you consider each candidate's constitutional eligibility no matter what standard you conclude is correct. That's what I do. I don't insist that you come to the same conclusion that I come to, I just ask that you use whatever conclusion you believe to be correct.

It's hard for me to understand what you find disturbing about that. Voting is important.

the 60s....When I took Civics in 61

Give it about 4 or 5 years, and that's when it all started going to hell.

You are wrong. Go and read the Constitution again. No where does it say “a child born to an American Citizen is automatically an American Citizen.”

You have the wrong audience here.

Cruz could be a US citizen if he took advantage of the Reagan amnesty in 1986, which could be a reason to think he no longer had Canadian citizenship.

TO BE A NBC, BOTH PARENTS MUST BE AMERICAN CITIZENS AT THE TIME OF THE CHILD'S BIRTH AND SAID CHILD MUST BE BORN ON AMERICAN SOIL !

Not yet a settled question of law. Strong arguments pro and con that needed to be settled in federal court, but Ted has resisted such courtroom debate and decision from day one. One reason I'm unhappy with him.

“I believe that those electors are obligated to vote only for candidates who are eligible - 35 years old, natural born citizens, resident for 14 years. I think that they are obligated to consider qualifications. And, I assume that they always have.”

You assume completely wrong. There are many possible examples where Electors have voted for ineligible candidates, including Obama and McCain. However, there is one such example that is indisputable. In the General Election of 1872 the Liberal Republican candidate, Horace Greeley, earned 66 Electoral votes in the popular election. Unfortunately, he died on November 29th, before the Electoral College cast their votes. Consequently, his 66 electoral votes were redistributed to the other candidates, except when three Electors chose to vote for Horace Greeley in the Electoral College despite his prior death. Now, a candidate cannot be anymore ineligible than by being dead, yet three Electors went ahead and cast their three votes for a dead and therefore ineligible candidate. Congress subsequently invalidated those three electoral votes for the dead and ineligible candidate, Horace Greeley. If Congress had seen fit to disregard the ineligibility of the dead candidate, however, there would have been nothing to prevent those three electoral votes for a dead and ineligible candidate from being recorded and taking effect as it has for later ineligible candidates such as McCain and Obama.

See U.S. Constitution Article I, Section 5, and specific for the Senate, the Select Committee on Ethics. See the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, initiating an investigatory committee. Voting to expel requires the concurrence of two-thirds of the members present and voting.

The U.S. Senate can expel, and has a prior history of expelling sitting members.

The Constitution and our government says what is the law. You haven't the "right" to claim that your opinion is higher than that.

Nobody in the government has "told" me that I am right; I am QUOTING directly from what the government has printed in various different books, study guides, and is the law!

Text books, the study guide, and many supposed EXPERTS in Constitutional Law all say what I have posted.

Yes, it's true that some judges have claimed that Teddy is a NBC, but it was based on whatever they "felt", not on law.

Justice Roberts refused to even look into his BFF's staus, which is hardly surprising, considering the fact that he is where he is because of Cruz. besides which, Roberts is a CORRUPT man.

Justice Thomas has now decided to look into it all.

Laws can be changed, of course; however this one hasn't been.

Winston Churchill's mother was a NBC American Citizen.

His father was a British Citizen, when Winston was born, in Blenheim Castle, in England.

Was Winston Churchill a NBC?

Could Churchill have run for the presidency of the USA?

Bear in mind, that after WW II, Churchill was made an "HONORARY CITIZEN OF THE USA".

Mrs. Cruz laughed and said, "There was a funny post on the Internet that the Canadians said, 'Don't worry, he's 100 percent American.' So I think that can partly settle the question."

like apple pie and basketball rings, he's American

Rubio and Kasich combined killed the Cruz candidacy as much as Cruz himself did.

Is this one of those things when you *mishear* something?

Maybe she actually said: “Ted is ignorant.”

It's settled and when he was running for the Senate, he was on a show in Texas and asked, point blank: WHAT IS A NBC?

His answer was EXACTLY, WORD FOR WORD, what I have posted here.

Now, he won't talk about it and refused to have it adjudicated.

So, I ask YOU and the others here, who refuse to accept SETTLED LAW, is our government wrong and was Cruz also wrong in 2012?

Fiorina is going FULL FRONTAL hug. (She's older than Ted by enough years that I think the hug, for all its other inappropriateness, is bad manners and shows disrespect to a lady a number of years older than you, like old enough to be your mom. You don't grab "older" ladies like that, you treat them gentlemanly, gently and chivalrously, particularly if it's a "formal" or professional event, versus say a backyard bar-b-que.) You don't grab her and press her body full frontal into yours! Then again, maybe that is their relationship.)

Heidi seems to be steeling her forearms to keep him from getting any closer than that distance. Who can blame her.
