One guy is winning every caucus. Those caucuses are tightly controlled by GOPe people.

Strangely enough, when primary elections are held, Trump wins.

So you have people endorsing Trump who are not providing anything else to him.

You have the GOPe providing support to Curz, and they are tossing states his way.

You tell me which is GOPe connected.

Yes, that’s true, however I was addressing someone who couldn’t understand that, so I spoke to them in terms they could grasp.

Can’t get too far ahead of ourselves...

Not accurate at all. The establishment was backing Bush, Rubio, etc. When their campaigns failed, they finally decided to align with either Trump or Cruz (with some Kasich hold-outs). The establishment is the desperate party in this election. I don’t think Trump changed any of his positions to win the support of Giuliani, Christie or Huntsman and neither did Cruz to get the support of those politicians who have endorsed him. They both set the terms of the relationship.

Jon Huntsman is the ultimate noblesse oblige nanny stater. Good for him for endorsing Trump, but a big “oh h3!! NO” to him playing any major role in Trump’s administration. And definitely NOT as ambassador to China, which is probably what he’s angling for.

"The Gope always support one of their own."

Yep. The truth is coming out about Trump- the Gope makes-deals-with-and-supports-democrats insider.

(Trump's statement supporting men using the ladies bathrooms is yet another "tell".)

Ted Cruz is, and has always been, the ONLY Constitutional Conservative in the race.

Caucuses are not controlled by the establishment. Why do you think Bernie is winning most of the caucuses on the Dem side or why Obama dominated them in 2008 against establishment Hillary? Caucuses get more participation from the activist base of the party, the most committed conservatives in the GOP or the leftist loonies in the Ass party. You have to be willing to spend more time at a caucus, so that weeds out people for whom politics is not something they spend much time thinking about.

Also, Trump won 3 caucuses including Nevada and Cruz won 4 primaries including Wisconsin, so it’s not an exact split.

Cruz has won four primaries. Everything else he has won has been at a caucus or state convention.

Let me ask you this. Who do you think spends more time reviewing political dynamics, those participating in caucuses or the folks here on Free Republic?

I would venture to state we spend 100s of times more time studying up on the candidates and what they stand for. We also study up on the Washington elites and what they stand for. We watch as these folks all connect to support what they do.

What has the party come to stand for? You know as well as I do what it has come to stand for. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

In light of this, you explain to me that it is very well connected Republicans who are participating in the caucuses. And you know what, you’re exactly right.

The problem is, for you this means they are rock solid Conservatives. NO THEY ARE NOT. They are rock solid supporters of the Republican National Committee, and the fellow travelers of the GOPe.

You folks have completely missed this dynamic.

You are defending the status quo. You are defending people who think higher of the party, than they do the United States of America.

What do you think it is we come here to lament every single day? We have owned the Congress for going on four years now. Obama has only had to over-ride four vetoes. Our Republicans on Capital Hill give him just about everything he wants. When he does back things they NEVER defund them. They NEVER stand up to him.

This is the type of thing you are so impressed with the caucus participants taking part in, backing the very people in W., D.C. that are totally all in against us.

Do you not understand all this?

Your premise is completely wrong. Like I said, Bernie won caucuses and Cruz won caucuses because ideological activists have more influence at the caucuses, NOT party insiders and not low-info voters. That’s why Santorum won Iowa, Colorado, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri and Lousiana.

FR people do go the caucuses and some have been delegates as well. The people who go to caucuses and the people on FR are similar kinds of activists.

Your criticisms of the party elites are correct, but they are the same criticisms that ideological conservatives like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Dave Brat, etc. have been making for years. Everyone with a brain and who is being honest knows Cruz has been fighting the elites in the party. Boehner and the other elites themselves know it. Now that Cruz is out, many people owe him apologies for painting him as something he’s not just to help their preferred candidate win instead of being grateful for being one of the rare politicians who has fought for us.

You would have a lot more success with your version, if your own Colorado leadership didn’t agree with me.

I’m not trying to be mean about this. There is still something going on.

The will of the people is the will of the people.

You can’t tell me that all primary folks love Trump, but all caucus folks love Ted.

Life does not work that way.

I never said it was all or nothing. Few states were won by anyone with over 50% of the vote. Trump won some caucuses and Cruz won some primaries too.

The last six primaries have been won with over 50% of the vote for Trump.

How do you explain those caucuses just prior to that going 100% for Cruz?

They didn’t go 100% for Ted. He just got 100% of the delegates, like Trump did in FL, SC, other WTA states.
