Jon Huntsman adds to the growing list of GOP elite supporting Trump
AOL News ^ | April 30, 2016

Jon Huntsman now says he supports Donald Trump's bid for the White House, calling on the rest of the GOP to rally behind the Republican presidential hopeful.

The former governor of Utah told Politico: "We've had enough intraparty fighting. Now's the time to stitch together a winning coalition..."

Huntsman's endorsement and others signify a rare shift for the GOP elite, who have been scrambling to stop Trump for a while. But the fear of a contested —and potentially very ugly — convention in July has caused some GOP leaders to speak out in favor of Trump...

That has been my point about endorsements too.

Trump didn’t sell out to get Christy’s support. He has the same beliefs now as he did when he was running against him.

He may have offered Christy a plumb, but Christy will be working for him. Christy may be able to play a major positive role down the line. As I understand it, he was a good prosecutor.

Trump has a way about him that is important. He doesn’t seem to hold a grudge. If he can come back later and use people in a positive manner, he’s all for it.

He’s an interesting guy.

Thanks for your point. It’s an important one, and I agree with you.

>The GrOP-E is sucking up to Trump. Ted Cruz was sucking up to the GrOP-E

>There is a big difference in who is being dominated. Trump is not joining them, they are joining Trump

Indeed. One is the servant and the other is the master.

Agree that is why the Bushes and Romney are behind Cruz. Neil Bush is even on his campaign.

I didn't want to see Christy as president, but I hear he's a real attack dog of a prosecutors and I think Trump mind need the services of a AG who is will to put some very powerful people behind bars. Christy would probably relish the role.

Yes...the snakes are crawling out and want to be warmed by the glow and heat generated by Americans wanting a free nation.

I would like to believe that Trump is savvy enough to realize the GOPe are tools to be used . Once used and abused, ridden hard and tossed out the door wet, a few quarters in their pockets, he'd best be on the job seeking reliable and loyal team mates.

I have been a very happily married man to a beautiful woman for 44 years, but I’ll gladly adjust my schedule to help out with this project. Duty and all that....

Cruz would have been out of money months ago without the Bush crime family supporting him.

Exactly. He wouldn’t be in a position to implement Leftist policy, but could be a real asset.

You’ve got to admire Trump for seeing that in him.

Many of us would have shunned Christy for any role. They would be wrong. That’s the difference between Trump and folks who mean well but don’t quite understand interpersonal relationships to this degree.

It’s why Trump wins.

Thanks for the clue. I can't stand the sight of Romney either after what he did to heartlessly trash Trump. And he's one Trump hadn't picked on yet.

There's a new article on WAPO about O and H and how they paired up to trash the world (should have been the headline). I only read the headline and comments. They were excellent! The photo is positively evil looking of the pair of them.

Huntsman?

Darling of the liberal media last time he ran.

They both, along with the vast majority of the GOP were doing everything possible to have a convention battle. It would appear that will not happen, or if Trump is not at the magic number, he’s going to be so damn close it can’t be taken away. If he fell a couple hundred short, it could have been done. but he’s already there with a number of states to go. I don’t think anyone at this stage expect the nominee to be anyone other than Trump....maybe a slim light of hope that California would slip away or be a tie and a few other non-Trump wins that counter the Northeastern dominance last week. I don’t think anyone has high hopes at this stage that Trump loses, even if they fight these final battles with vigor.

FYI for those you who may not know it, but Jon Huntsman’s father (Jon Huntsman Sr.) is a ‘father figure’ to Glenn Beck, who has described the senior Huntsman as a ‘mentor’.
