Cities across Venezuela are increasingly agitated, as government offices closed their doors for the rest of the week in the face of a worsening energy crisis that is causing daily blackouts.

Venezuela is among the world's most violent countries, and crime generally spikes here when the lights go out.

Looting and fiery protests starting spreading Wednesday in Caracas, as hundreds of angry voters lined up to sign a petition beginning the process of recalling the deeply unpopular President Nicolas Maduro.

The socialist administration began imposing a four-hour daily blackout around the country this week to save electricity. Then, Maduro announced that millions of officials will now work only Mondays and Tuesdays, taking the rest of the week off in a bid to save electricity.

--snip--

Maduro warned that the water level behind the nation's largest dam has fallen to near its minimum operating level because of a severe drought. If it gets much lower, the whole nation could be plunged into darkness.

"The crazy right wing doesn't understand that in hard times, a family has to band together," he said. "They're trying to create a violent situation."

This is a real quote.

Could happen here too. And guess who they will blame. Certainly couldn’t be that socialism failed miserably.

Another Marxist utopia bites the dust. How many is that now?

Doesn’t matter...they all fail, and people starve and die.

Is Sean Penn (or any other Hollyweird royalty) jumping on the next plane down there to calm people down and explain how better off they are in that socialist paradise as opposed to the evil capitalist U.S.?

Well, almost getting time to roll out the tanks, armored cars, heavy cavalry or whatever the regime has left running and available.

I suggest we put Congress on a similar schedule.

Caracas was practically a first-world city in the late 80’s, before Venezuela went hard left. Anyone with the means to flee has already fled, mostly to Miami.

“Venezuela’s economy is projected to contract 8 percent this year,”

SO IS OURS

Budget 2015= 3.871 TRILLION
Deficit 2015 474 BILLION

That is an 8.16% Contraction by Devaluation. And it has been for a LONG LONG TIME.

So, the whole nation depends on one dam? Maybe back in their glory days when the communist had not yet taken over, they might should have built a natural gas plant or two. Maybe a big coal fired rig or three? If you are a crook, you stand to ruin a country if they give you the keys. Wonder how much electrical poaching is going on up in the squatter districts? Will a solution come up from the people?

Brett Favre once told an NFL official to take two weeks off then quit.

I suggest our congress take the rest of the year off, then quit.

If we Artificially ADD over 8% to our GDP through DEFICIT SPENDING and then GDP comes in at 2%, we LOST OVER 6%.

How are we any better off??And is it not just a matter of time until the chips fall?

The only reason we are seeing these Marxism failures is because the wrong people have been in charge, of course.
Bernie Sanders would be much more effective at spending other people's money in Venezuela or any other place.
