It is an accepted fact that Coronal Mass Ejection events mess with the power grid and communications. What is not so accepted is the growing pattern of severity of CME's as a result of both solar perturbations, AND a shifting of the Earth's magnetic poles plus their weakening at an accelerating rate. This issue is orders of magnitudes more important than anthropogenic global warming and could easily erase the latter as a concern for anyone but the hypnotized.
CME is caused by AGW...yeah, that’s the ticket.

There was an EMP-related article on FR the other day and the poster was universally ridiculed, which is sad.
CME and the attendant EMP could end life as we know it for America.

In the book 90% of all Americans die in the first year without electricity.
All diabetics will die.
Most folks on blood thinners will die.
Anyone with an electronic medical device that regulates the heart will die.
The elderly will die off fast without their meds.
Preemie babies will die at a far higher rate than they do now.
Blah, blah, blah. Seems like nobody cares.

If a CME hit us, AGW would be the least of our worries. About 1/10th of us would make it through to see the next newscast.
I am not really worried about either. Except I have my portable ham radio and a solar generator in a big metal lined box.
