John Boehner calls Ted Cruz "Lucifer in the flesh," "miserable" SOB
CBS News ^ | April 28, 2016 | Reena Flores

John Boehner sounded off a litany of insults for Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz Wednesday night, labelling the Texas senator "Lucifer in the flesh" and a "miserable son of a bitch."

"I have Democrat friends and Republican friends," the former House speaker said during a frank on-stage discussion at Stanford University Wednesday. "I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life."

Boehner, who retired from Congress at the end of October, also let loose on the two other GOP candidates in the race.

Of his relationship with Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Boehner said that he was "my friend, and I love him" -- but with the caveat that Kasich "requires more effort on my behalf than all my other friends."

Boehner said he was on friendly terms with Republican front-runner Donald Trump, adding that he often played golf with the New York business mogul and billing their friendship as one between "texting buddies."

The ex-congressman seemed to accept that Trump would be the party's nominee and said that he would vote for him if that prediction came to pass. Boehner said he would not, however, cast a ballot for Cruz if the Texas senator won the nomination.

Boehner also weighed in on the Democratic primary contest, according to the Stanford Daily, the university newspaper that first reported Boehner's comments. The former House speaker praised Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders as the most honest politician in the White House race. Of Clinton, who he has known for 25 years, Boehner called her accomplished and smart.

Hedge your bets. Have a Plan B. Inflate a lifeboat.

If and when Trump either implodes with his big mouth which the MSM will finally view negatively and construct a new narrative for him once the nomination is secured, or he embraces the GOPe in a yuuuuuge deal and reverts to RINO default position, you'll accordingly need a candidate to go to like Senator Cruz. Keep your mind open. GOPe HATES Cruz with a passion.

“This is disinformation designed to hurt Trump.”

Only folks who see leprechauns behind trees would believe that.

Best reason yet to support Cruz. Boehner represents everything I have grown to hate about the Republican establishment.

Nope. Just tells me that Cruz is universally despised.

Perhaps Boehner is a Freemason and he really meant it as a compliment to Cruz. Masons believe Lucifer is a good guy.

My wife worked for the Masonic Home in Des Moines, WA for several years before it closed. I volunteered and drove the bus on many outings. The minister they had was very conservative and his sermons were very traditional. He was definitely more fire and brimstone than fuzzy bunny. He was a great and inspirational speaker.

I was invited to join multiple times, but had too many other obligations with family, and other volunteer activities t consider it. We weren't allowed in any of their secret squirrel stuff, but I certainly never saw any outward signs of devil worshipping. Although I will admit some of their ceremonial stuff seemed a little creepy.

A lot of our founding fathers were either Masons or had close associations with Masons or Freemasonry. So I am not convinced that it is some type of cult.

•John Adams - Spoke favorably of Freemasonry — never joined
•Samuel Adams - (Close and principle associate of Hancock, Revere & other Masons
•Ethan Allen - Mason
•Edmund Burke - Mason
•John Claypoole - Mason
•William Daws - Mason
•Benjamin Franklin - Mason
•John Hancock - Mason
•Thomas Jefferson - Deist with some evidence of Masonic connections
•John Paul Jones - Mason
•Robert Livingston - Mason
•James Madison - Some evidence of Masonic membership
•Paul Revere - Mason
•Colonel Benjamin Tupper - Mason
•George Washington - Mason
•Daniel Webster - Some evidence of Masonic connections

I didn’t say Boner was good. Who said Boner was good?

He's obviously good if he's attacking Cruz so viciously. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. (I get so confused these days.)

Done in typical FR Cruz fan style of projection. Look at the die hard Cruz fanboys anti-trump statements here.

If he’s “universally” despised by people like Boehner, I’m good with that. Since he’s “universally” liked by people like Mark Levin, than I’m very good with that.

“I didn’t say Boner was good. Who said Boner was good?”

The Trumsters probably believe Boner is now good. What was good is bad and what was bad is good per the Trumpsters. Boner hates Cruz because he was always fighting the establishment. I thought that is what the Trumpsters wanted. But Trump says Cruz can’t work with the other side so the Trumpsters go along and say that nobody likes Cruz.

“Because Cruz didn’t cave to his machinations and sweetheart deals.”

True, but other Senators resisted JB - why didn’t they attain a Lucifer label?

Because Cruz is really the butt end of a donkey and he lies like Hillary, like taking a breath.

Mark Levin has flushed all of his credibility down the toilet with his recent breakdown. He in a league with Beck.

In Cruz’s defense, he was part of the conservatives in Congress that got rid of Boner! (Even though he’s in the Senate)

If there's one thing that's become crystal clear about Ted it's that he puts out narratives that often have nothing to do with the facts. Now I wonder if he really had any influence in Boehner's defeat. Especially since House members are also reluctant to endorse him. If he was leading the conservatives in the House, wouldn't they gladly endorse?

No doubt, but that’s what we sent him there for...NOT to get along with all the BS that has been going on there! I’m glad he stood up to them and that’s why I voted for him. Twice!
