Ted Cruz, looking for a shake-up in the 2016 race as Donald Trump moves steadily closer to the Republican nomination, on Wednesday announced former GOP primary rival Carly Fiorina as his choice for running mate should he win the party nod.

“Drudge seems to be totally ignoring this story. I know he’s aware because he’s been updating his site all afternoon. Maybe Drudge has deemed it not worthy of mention!”

He is giving it the attention it deserves...

While I like Ted Cruz’s conservatism, he is display poor choice, after poor choice.

The day after his biggest loss to-date he chooses a VP? It’s going over like a lead balloon.

I don’t know what he EXPECTED the results to be but clearly its poorly planned and executed with poor results. Not executive material.

I mostly watch CNN or Fox Business News. CNN is now calling Trump the “presumptive nominee”. Jeff Sessions on now.

Are you sure that you wouldn’t be saying “Trump the liberal picked a liberal”? That would be the typical response that I would expect to hear from Cruz supporters. As for your point, Trump wouldn’t never ask Carly to be his VP. She brings nothing to the table and I imagine he doesn’t have time for losers. Especially ones that fail in business.

“Excellent choice for many reasons. [...] I always thought Carly was sharp, articulate, and principled. She isn’t as conservative as I would have liked, but it’s hard to beat out Cruz in that regard.”

You don’t live in the same world as the rest of us, do you?

_____________

I hope we see more of Sessions. I think he has been greatly underutilized thusfar, and is a great asset. He’s great on immigration issues, as well as matters dealing with the judiciary.

“Oh Lordy, Ted just introduced Carly saying she knows where jobs come from. The smartest guy in the room must be unaware that Carly tanked HP by off shoring”

She didn’t just “tank” HP. She totally destroyed the company, through off-shoring, ill-advised mergers, eliminating entire business units, etc.

HP was one of the best IT companies prior to her “reign”. Afterward, it was a shell, no, a ghost, of itself. No resemblance to what it once was.

I know and expect this. My most fervent hope is by the time Election Day rolls around, the Never Trump crowd (provided Trump is the nominee) will understand sitting out the election is a vote for the Hildebeast.

IN the face of last night’s primaries, and in the face of Trump’s foreign policy speech...this is simply an effort to try and upstage those things.

Too little too late...and this VP pick does not even take stage IMHO.

CNN is showing Trump with 52 delegates total in PA out of 54:

This is simply huge.

http://edition.cnn.com/election/primaries/states/pa/Rep

Current delegate count according to them, and I have found them to be fairly accurate is:

Trump: 991
Cruz: 568
Kasich: 154

http://edition.cnn.com/election/

As I predicted on the Primary Thread yesterday, Trump got over 100 of the delegates last night.

I believe this momentum is going to carry over to Indiana next week and that Trump will win big there too.

We shall see.

I expect Trump will go well over the top (probably by 50 or more delegates at this point), on June 7th.

If Cruz is interested in the GOP (without any “e”) winning in November, then he needs to concede next week after Trump (in all likelihood) takes Indiana.

I pray to God that is what he will do. He has the power to:

1) Unite the party by so doing.
2) Deliver a huge blow to the GOPe by so doing.
3) Set up for a big GOP November win.

My Open Letter to Ted Cruz
http://www.jeffhead.com/Cruz-ltr.htm

Finally, I urge all to watch Donald Trump’s Foreign Policy speech from today...the link is to the video.

IMHO, any other concerns aside, this is a great speech.

Hoosiers are unimpressed.

Well based on the few clips I've seen of her today then one thing she will do for the remainder of the campaign is help Hillary out by hammering Trump on his opinions of women and possibly drive his negatives even higher with that demographic. Intentionally or unintentionally Cruz/Fiorina will be working to try and cause Trump to lose more than they will for them to win.

Semper Fi Jarhead :-) my thought was he did this to steal the headlines (which for now has worked) through the selection of a female. And possibly to counter the meme that Republicans are anti women. Lastly to put the ball back in Trumps court to say hey, look I’m not anti woman what say you? I know none of this seems plausible but why else?

Cruz made a brilliant choice. Her delegate and the good will Carly brings with her will more than make up for the Ted Cruz 405 delegate deficit at the convention. Trump is completely and totally doomed now.

Doomed!

Well, his running mate’s zero delegates should get him over the top.

The new math—Cruz style.
