Simple, Trump raised the two critical issues of illegal immigration and one-sided trade deals and their impact on the economy to levels never before seen in a presidential campaign. He's the first candidate who had both the guts and the presence to accomplish that.
Me Too Ted had done little more than mealy mouth and flip/flop on those issues prior to Trump's entry, and then he resorted to copying Trump on the issues after Trump entered the race.
The voters know that and their votes, when allowed to vote, say it loud and clear.
As if those two things you mention are not enough, he has ripped the mask off the whole decades-long - even centuries-long process put together by the party power elites so as to control outcomes without giving the people their proper due respect.
