After Trump's sweep, does Cruz-Kasich Hail Mary have a prayer?
Fox News ^ | 26 Apr 16 | April 26, 2016

The wins help Trump not only in terms of delegates, but also give the billionaire bragging rights and the ability to rhetorically sidelinehis rivals. On Tuesday he said about the primary race: “As far as I’m concerned it’s over.”

The Cruz-Kasich strategy had already been facing difficulties. Shortly after the plan was announced, Kasich undercut the strategy Monday, saying “I’ve never told [supporters] not to vote for me. They ought to vote for me.” He sought to downplay the strategy as well, describing it as “not a big deal.”

Kasich’s struggling campaign was dealt another blow when it was revealed Monday that Kasich was not featured in an Oregon voters’ guide after the campaign missed the deadline to submit information for the pamphlet.

Even in states like Indiana, where Cruz is investing his resources, he still trails significantly behind Trump. The latest Fox News poll gave Trump an eight point lead over Cruz. Trump collected 41 percent, while Cruz had 33. Kasich was a distant third with 16 percent.

Curiosity got the better of me so I turned on Glenn Beck to hear how he would cover "The Sweep."

After the obligatory Trump-bashing he was on to opining about Hillary and her possible running mate and how Trump would stand no chance against Hilliary and Fauxcahontas Warren.

After Trump's sweep, does Cruz-Kasich Hail Mary have a prayer?

Almost certainly not. It won't be over until Trump hits the 1237 mark but at this stage the chances of him not reaching that before the convention are incredibly slim.

I think other states are just as important as Ohio. Kasich is playing for the Veep position. It’s obvious to me now.

Didn't he already state that he wasn't interested in being Trump's VP?

I see the first job as being the protection of Scalia’s seat in the senate. Just my opinion, but in terms of ‘government issues’ that is at the top of the list.

I’ve had to swallow a tough pill in the past, and I’ll do it again in the future if need be. I’d love to see McCain not be the candidate from Arizona, but I’ll prefer him over any democrat if he is. After all, I voted for him for Potus...far from my first choice.

I will pray for Trump to be a pleasant surprise. I hold out no hope that Clinton will ever be that.

There's a stubbornness in the man that I think might just make him the one to dig in his heels and stand up for the America of the greatest generation.

I also think he's a capitalist. No matter what anyone else believes about him...liberal, moderate, conservative...I'm absolutely certain he's a capitalist. A man works, he benefits from his labor.

I expect him to do things to benefit capitalism, and that certainly is not one-worldism. That benefits statism.

I know Beck helped ruin Cruz. I don’t know why Cruz had him campaign for him.

As a Cruz supporter who voted for Trump in my primary to send a message I am urging all Cruzaders to re-target all efforts against the Beast.

However, standing aside ain't part of our nature...as the delegate battle would show...we love to fight...even when the odds are overwhelming against us.

Instead of standing aside...we will have to reinforce the nominee and I respectfully call on all to join the fight against our common enemy.

It takes both wings for the plane to fly.

There is one lamp lit in the Old North Church Tower...Cruzaders like the minutemen before us, need to rally to the call.

It is dawn and those who support defeating the Beast must join the battle together as one united force.

EAGLES UP!

Jedi.

I don't think I'm alone. They don't deserve a majority. President Trump can put together a coalition of folks who will make sensible moves to give the US a chance at survival. The backstabbing elitist sellouts will fight for their globalist agenda every step of the way. Best that they aren't there polluting any new US Senators.

What will turn the others around? Look what happened to Cruz and KSick with their Collusion. Trump didn't just defeat them. His results humiliated them.

Yes, Cruz will win Indian and deprive Trump of the necessary 1237 delegates necessary to win the nomination.

Cruz will then win the nomination on the second ballot.

Kasich undercut it almost immediately.

And when I listened to Cruz campaigning yesterday saying, “Kasich has ended his campaign for Indiana” or something like that, the first thing that popped into my mind was Iowa. It sounded like what so many had imagined his Iowa operatives to have whispered about Ben Carson on the sly.

But it was in the open. And then Kasich knifed him.

One of my hobbies is looking for bigger picture meaning in the small events, themes and details of our day to day.

Election 2016, with its many characters, plans and motives and all being played out against the backdrop of sights and sounds the obama vacation from reality tour has taken US on, has been a rich bounty to think through.

This season's Cruz character, his rise and fall, along with the many who bet it all on him and then acted accordingly, has been an important teaching event showcasing a variety lessons, with more still to come.

It's going to require some thought to go through it all and then piece it together with past seasons.

What a time to be alive! What a time not to be dead...

A Cruz win in Indiana does not guarantee a Trump loss. It then becomes an issue of California, Oregon, Washington, and New Mexico.

I suspect that Trump can shut Cruz out in California the way he has in the Northeast.

THis article points out that Cruz is counting on Kasich in Oregon, and that Kasich has forgotten to get his name on the voter guide in Oregon.

So, Indiana voters need to end this fight and take a gamble on Trump. Otherwise, they could lose the Senate and lose to Clinton.

After all, Cruz has zero mathematical shot at 1237.

That also means that on the second ballot he will start that ballot 600 delegates DOWN. He has picked up no where near that number.

“Initially, I think Cruz simply waited too long to go on the offensive.”

Disagree. What happened to those who attacked early ?
The only reason Cruz is still in is because he’s a beta and waited. I’d argue he still hasn’t attacked. Not convinced he’s capable of it.

If the guy had a shred of self respect he’d get out before IN. At least then he can claim he gave up something for the good of the country. Getting out after and he’s just a selfish narcissistic loser.

I don’t think a month earlier would have made a difference in the road kill equation. He still had a substantial ground operation.

Do you honestly think a democrat US Senate is a good thing?

In my opinion, most of what you wrote is frustration because Cruz got beat...badly. Deal with it. He’s not all that great of a candidate. His principles are, but you have to be able to get people to want to vote for you and believe in you, and clearly, the majority, regardless of how many people Cruz claims are voting against Trump, more are voting for Trump than him.

I will concede you’re right on the “people” understanding the need to return to Constitutional principles. However, it has taken many, many years to get to where we are in relation to where we should be with the Constitution, it will take many, many years to get back, if it is even possible to that degree. All societies move left over time...it is replete through history. The difference being some move left faster than others. Perhaps the best we can hope for is to stop the runaway train we’re on away from the Constitution and slowly swing the pendulum the other way.

Do you honestly think a democrat US Senate is a good thing?

No but an ACCOUNTABLE US Senate is better than continuing to vote for the backstabbing globalist elite in the US who have done so much to destroy the nation. Getting rid of traitors, both political parties, would send a strong message. Continuing to re-elect them just enables their disgusting un American maneuvers.

Look at the trade deals. We fared better with the dems than with the 'pubs who sold us out.

A president Trump would not give them trade deals to vote on that would sell us out.

A liberal scotus would last an entire generation and would destroy what’s left of America.
