Turkey should have a religious constitution, parliament speaker Ismail Kahraman said on Monday, in comments that will likely add to concerns of creeping Islamization under the ruling AKP party.

“As a Muslim country, why should we be in a situation where we are in retreat from religion?” state-run news agency Anatolia quoted him as saying.

“We are a Muslim country. As a consequence, we must have a religious constitution,” the AKP lawmaker told a conference in Istanbul.

“Secularism cannot feature in the new constitution.” …

We are seeing the “Restrainer” being taken away in front of our very eyes. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk came along at the precise time at the fall of the Ottoman Empire to restrain Turkey until Israel could be established back in the Land. When I was in Turkey in 1997 doing stuff with the Government, one of my guys started growing a beard, and I had to explain to the MIT that it was his French side coming out, not his Islamist side. Not a headscarf in sight at a public building in those days. How times have changed.

This whole Turkey, (Erdogan/Hitler, Jr.), Ezekiel 38, phenomenon is hurtling forward at breakneck speed.
Going faster than eyesight.

My only visit to Turkey was on NATO business in 1992. I had a full beard at the time and spoke enough English/German/Turkish to get around comfortably in Izmir. The Turkish lira was 8093 to the USD at the time. I had become conversant in large Turkish numbers due to the wretched exchange rate.

When I arrived in town, the local paper had a story of 5 members of Parliament who had made statements deemed offensive to the rest of Parliament. In the space of the week I was there, their words were turned into capital offenses and all 5 were executed before I stepped on the plane for Rome/Naples. The ride to "work" in the big blue NATO bus was guarded by 2 guys with 9mm submachineguns. My fellow employees were dressed in non-descript civvies and changed into their military uniforms inside of office spaces.

I nervously enjoyed the visit, but would decline an assignment there at this point in time.

Was in Turkey twice off a cruise in the last four years.
Did not feel safe. Got to see Ephesus and the House of Mary before it was gone.

The people were worried about the Islamification of their government. Especially for women who liked freedom under a more secular government.

Turks are going full jihad. The time is long overdue to kick them out of NATO.

Our grandparents witnessed an iron curtain fall across Eastern Europe, but that horror only lasted 70 years. Now we're witnessing islime's veil of ignorance smothering reason everywhere and this particular terror, though 1400 years along, has its roots with the oldest of adversaries.

No. One of his first steps after gaining more power was purging the senior ranks of the Military.

It’s been replaced with officers more loyal to him and Islam.

He’s also been stacking the courts and replacing leadership in the schools.

Taking 15 years but he’s getting close to his goal.

And so it starts. Turkey tumbles from a 17th century pig pen to 6th century savagery. You can be sure that that swine Erdogan is as responsible for this as Obama is.

Erdoğan has been hard at work replacing secular generals with Islamic-loyal ones. The time to act would have been way back in 2003.

Obama did something similar with the US military.

Ephesus and the House of Mary were part of my weekend tour. St John’s tomb, a rug weaving shop and Fabeege jewelry facility were also included.

My wife spent 4k on a rug 4 years ago and you later find out they have sales people that travel here to sell more.

We get calls twice a year.

Second tour I jumped off at the rug place and instead went back to the ship.

Turkey has homeless in the parks.
Turkey is very beautiful.
Most of the people are great.
Their shops try to sell knock offs at original prices.
Very pushy...
