The Isreali's threw their newly borne babies into the lake to worship Moloc, against Johovah's commandments. He let it go on for over 400 years, then they were all utterly destroyed.

He has plenty of patience, but I see this as a continuation of unbelief and apathy, until the end. Maybe next year although it hasn't got near bad enough, more like 40 more years of it getting worse and worse as the people turn their backs and hearts on the only one who can save them from utter destruction.
