WASHINGTON -- The National Enquirer has published what it says is conclusive evidence that Ted Cruz’s father, Rafael B. Cruz, is the man photographed next to JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald distributing pro-Castro leaflets in 1963 in New Orleans.
The Cruz presidential campaign fired back unequivocally. “This is another garbage story in a tabloid full of garbage,” communications director Alice Stewart told McClatchy. “The story is false; that is not Rafael in the picture.”
The explosive suggestion that Cruz’s father would have had any affiliation with Oswald is not corroborated in any other way. Cuban-born Rafael Cruz is now a fervent anti-communist, but there was a time he supported then-rebel leader Fidel Castro. His son, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, frequently relates his father’s arrest and torture by government officials and subsequent escape to the United States.
The elder Cruz ended up at the University of Texas at Austin and still supported Castro, who led the revolution that overthrew the Batista regime in 1959. Castro formally declared himself Marxist in 1961.
“The U.S. government was duped. The American people were duped. I was duped,” Rafael Cruz wrote in his book, “A Time for Action,” released in January. “When people ask me why I supported Castro in over-throwing the Cuban government, I readily admit that I didn’t realize he was a communist.”

My thoughts are: I am (now) a foe of Turd Cruz. He’s shown himself to be a fraud and an establishment spoiler.
Still, this story is a great big nothingburger. So Rafeal Cruz took a pamphlet from Lee Harvey Oswald? So someone happened to snap a photo? Not much there, there.
I'm posting this mostly to defuse the outrageous implications that R. Cruz was somehow involved in the JFK assassination.

I agree it’s a Nothing Burger based on the nonexistent level of evidence. The CIA connection with R. Cruz is interesting however. Maybe he was sent to watch Oswald since Oswald was a defector to the Soviet Union for a while.

Whoever he is, he is dressed like Oswald and there are more shots with him still on the scene, so it appears he was with Oswald.

I started out long ago as a Cruz guy, but I’m Trump now.
Without Trump Cruz would have been gutted and left on the side of the road long ago.
I’m just beginning to suspect that Cruz was never who I thought he was.
We don’t have a lick of proof that he was with Oswald. People of that era dressed in the clothes of the time. Further, there is just as much chance he was sent to monitor Oswald, as any other explanation. There is a mention of R. Cruz having CIA ties. No further data follows, but it is interesting.
If so, there is no way Ted is eligible for the Presidency. He would be born in a foreign country to two non-citizens.

Quite possible. Lots of former Cubans were involved. Cruz Sr. being assigned to observe Oswald certainly makes a lot of sense.
I said “whoever the person is.” I, of course, have no clue. I will let the experts handle that one.
