In Pa., shifting electorate and 'a historic election'

Jim Donnelly is a registered Republican who is disgusted. His lifelong party, he believes, has done little for anyone but the wealthy, the well-connected, and its own leaders.

"I'm a strong Republican and this is the worst I've ever seen it," said Donnelly, 73, a retired factory production manager who lives in Lansdale. "In Washington, D.C., and in Harrisburg, the Republicans are only looking out for themselves. I don't see any Republican I like except for Donald Trump - because he says it the way it is."

Donnelly has a lot of company in Pennsylvania.

For decades, the state has had a fairly consistent, predictably low-key GOP identity. But this year's presidential race is upending long-standing patterns, exposing a changing electorate demanding change.

Voter-registration data and polls suggest a wave of GOP disgruntlement among the blue-collar whites of the Philadelphia suburbs, places that not too long ago were populated by reliable so-called Country Club Republicans, the type who might normally gravitate toward Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

Fewer college degrees and more economic woes instead have made such places fertile ground for the message, and the candidacy, of Trump.

Places like blue-collar Springfield, Delaware County, where slightly more than half of all residents lack a college degree and Republicans are 60 percent of registered voters. Or Warminster, Bucks County, where barely a third of residents have a high school diploma or some college, and nearly half, 45 percent, are registered Republican.

On the Democratic side, Sen. Bernie Sanders has similarly stoked leftist voter anger with his challenge to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. His middle-class-is-suffering message is playing well among the state's many millennials under 35.

Regarding the notion of voters switching parties to "skew" the Republican primary to a candidate they'd like to run against in the fall:

That is ridiculous. Could it happen on a small scale of ultra-politically motivated individuals? Sure.

But 50,000???

Seriously? The most likely explanation is that those people switched to vote for a candidate they support.

What I want to know is will those people vote R down-ballot. If so, Trump represents not just a single-man candidacy, but the political realignment of the country.

Astute conservatives did not support Romney, when he “changed his mind” just before deciding to run, so why would astute supporters trust Trump for doing the EXACT SAME THING.

So answer me this: Are polls that favor Trump also propaganda push polls?

Are hypothetical matchups 6 months out propaganda, regardless of who they show ahead?

You bet your bottom dollar they are.

Such polls, for instance, had Reagan losing to Carter by 25 points. They didn't turn out to be very accurate.

This issue has all been hashed over and over on FR months ago, so nobody gives any credence to these polls but suckers. They are veritable "boob bait for bubbas".

Don't worry, you'll understand someday.

The relevant polls, which are at least attempts to measure public opinion, (as opposed to manipulate it) are the state polls for the upcoming primaries, and the national polls regarding the party nomination races.

You see, those are real polls of candidates who are currently matching up against each other right now.

Learn to discern the difference between something mildly informative, and clumsy Enemy propaganda, and then try to avoid being a dupe who helps spread Enemy propaganda.

Once again, why are you trolling for Hillary on this site?

I note that you never answered my questions from earlier, to wit:

If these polls are so maeningful, wouldn't the Enemedia be burying them, so that Hillary gets a nice easy opponent?

Or, is it instead the case that the Media really have the best interests of the GOP at heart, and are just trying to help GOP to avoid making a terrible mistake?

You see how ridiculous it is to tout such obvious propaganda?

It appears that Cruz fanboys or Hillary trolls (but I repeat myself) are the ones willing to believe just about anything that comes along, as long as it props up your forlorn hope for your failing candidate.

It's called "grasping at straws". It happens when your campaign has collapsed and is being rejected by the electorate, your followers are dwindling, and there's no good news.

So whether you're a Cruz fanboy or a Hillary troll, you go ahead and have fun pimping your little far-off scenarios. Just dont expect anyone to buy what you're selling.

Thanks for the speech, and for not answering MY question NOT, but I will not vote for a HARD LIBERAL, such as Trump, who sees no problem with allowing females of all ages to be invaded by transsexuals.

Anybody, who supports Trump after this is NO CONSERVATIVE.

Trump’s position on abortion is the same as Reagan’s and unlike anyone else running he wants to stop importing Muslim rapests.

Wasn’t a women just gang raped by 5 Muslims in Minnesota the other day? There’s far more illegal immigrants and Muslims raping American women and girls then there are Tranny’s causing problems in the bathroom.

If you care about American women and girls then keeping the illegals and Muslims our has to be your highest priority. Donald J. Trump is the only canidate who will do that.

When Trump wins the lion's share of the primary votes, states and delegates and the establishment installs someone else as the candidate, you've handed the election to Hillary.

Trump is the only anti-establishment candidate in the race and has won the lion's share of votes, states and delegates and is on track to continue amassing the lion's share of the votes, states and delegates by direct vote of the people.

We the People have voted and are voting to finally wrest control of our government from the entrenched corrupt establishment, aka, the uni-Party.

Cruz, Kasich, et al are mathematically eliminated and cannot win the nomination per the voters. They can attempt to re-wrest the nomination away from Trump and away from We the People only by corrupt establishment treachery at the convention. And that will split and destroy the party and guarantee a Hillary win.

NeverTrump is a losing proposition and will lead to a loss of liberty and loss of country.

This is totally unacceptable.

After the corrupt establishment losing twice in a row to Marxist Obama, I'm damned tired of the corrupt establishment and damned tired of losing.

If you are a NeverTrump type person, you are working against our purposes on FR, so please opus out now and log off and let us carry on with our mission in peace.

IN FACT, a woman, who was a product of rape wrote an article how Reagan did NOT have the three exceptions that most of the candidates have. She said only TED CRUZ and Marco Rubio were without those three exceptions. (Santorum dropped out before the article was written.)
