On Jan. 8, 1959, Fidel Castro rode victoriously into Havana. The country’s dictator, Batista, had fled a week earlier. The next day, Rafael Cruz spoke to the Daily Texan, the student newspaper at UT-Austin.
“The July 26 movement was started not by the lower classes but the cultured people of Cuba. People like lawyers, businessmen, men of education. And you know the Communists like to prey on the downtrodden,” said Cruz, conversing freely in his native Spanish.
The July 26 movement is the name of the movement led by Castro that overthrow Batista. The name comes from an attack on the Santiago de Cuba army barracks on July 26, 1953.

A fellow student’s sign read, “We strongly protest the admittance in U.S. territory of the Cuban criminals of the Batista gov and demand their immediate deportation to be tried by Cuban authorities. Out of thousands of Cuban faves the voice rises: Don’t let murder go unpunished.”
It wouldn’t matter as much if all the records weren’t sealed. I believe there are a lot of things in those records that are being kept from the public. I’m wondering if the Bushes helped Ted’s father get his citizenship in 2005. What does Ted owe them?
Also, Rafael is one of Ted’s top advisors.

Yet another of so many uncanny similarities between Obama and “Ted”: communist father.
There had to be a FBI file on Rafael Cruz. He was participating in rallies against the United States policies in Cuba as a student in Texas.
His file should be released so that we can see the history of Ted Cruz’s top advisor.

I agree. I figured such a few days ago.
Was Raphael working for the CIA at one time?
For Lee Harvey Oswald (Warren Commission photos published by the Enquirer this week)?
Why did he “flee” to Canada? Avoiding the draft? Someone on his heels?
This is all rank speculation, but it would make a great movie.
One thing for sure, if there is a CIA file on Raphael, it won’t, but it should be released or unsealed or whatever.

Mr. Cruz did not divorce his first wife until the 1990’s.
Ted was raised like Obama as far as exposure to really weird political parent(s). The similarities of misfortune and shadiness, between Bark and Ted, are getting eerie. I pity both of them, but I don’t want either at the seat of power ensconced in the White House.
Now wit this oil and water mix of communism and religion, and throw in Beck, is a bridge to far for me.
