How the out-of-touch media missed Donald Trump's rise
Washington Examiner ^ | April 23, 2016 | EDDIE SCARRY

In an appearance on CNN in March, Philadelphia Daily News columnist Will Bunch said that "too much of our, at least, mainstream elite media news coverage is driven by columnists and pundits who aren't out in the field. They're talking to the consultant class at places like the Capital Grill and [with] consultants who are fighting the last war, who expected Trump to collapse.

Bunch chided the media for having a blindspot to the places where Trump was receiving support.

"The truth is if they'd gone out to places like Kentucky … these people are happy to talk, and what you'll find a lot is you'll find real stories of people who had their jobs outsourced, they had a good manufacturing job for 20, 30 years, then it was outsourced to Mexico, outsourced to China," he said.

A survey of Republican voters released by Rand Corporation in January offered evidence to support that theory. It said that "voters who agreed with the statement 'people like me don't have any say about what the government does' were 86.5 percent more likely to prefer Trump" over his nearest rival for the GOP nomination, Ted Cruz.

Too busy telling us “they feared” Jeb Bush, just like they did with Mittens and Juan.

The media is not out of touch, they are the Ministry of Propaganda.
Their job has been to manipulate the citizens into thinking we cannot retain the rule of law or our country.
That we have no right to enforce our laws and that fraudulently documented foreigners have every right to ignore all of our laws.

They have been trying to convince us to give up our country without a fight.

So far, unsuccessfully.

How the out-of-touch media missed Donald Trump's rise
They missed Trump because they were too busy either ignoring middle class white people or blaming us for all the destruction the Left has inflicted on America.

This is what the media did.

First, they ignored Trump.

Then they made fun of him.

Then they tried fighting him.

Now, he is going to win.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yeah, I don’t think they missed it so much as denied it. They hoped he would go away or fade away. The Uniparty media can only laud a Uniparty candidate.

Trump scares the pee out of the Uniparty and that’s why I like him. I am willing to overlook some of his weaknesses in his platform and his personality because of that. The Globalist Elites must be defeated.

Bottom line is...these “agenda messengers”...are mouthpieces, not tea leaf readers....if a real story doesn’t just plop down in their lap...the just flail about...except for the people on foxes business channel..loud dobbs,,,bariromo....trish reagan,,,melissa francis...sharp insightful ppl.

Cavuto was not overlooked...he don’t belong in that catergory, he is part of the plantation crews.

The headline is absolutely correct and should throw in the congress and the judiciary. Not sure Trump is the guy but the headline is spot on and a great front page!

I believe you are right. The typical journalist long ago evolved beyond investigative journalism for the good of the people and became ideological mouthpieces parroting the words of their masters.

The media try to tell us what to think, how to vote, and whom to vote for. After all, they are so much smarter than we are. Unfortunately, they have been highly successful.

In 2008, Pew did a study that showed that 70 percent (?) of those surveyed didn’t trust the media, and rated “journalists” and “reporters” about on the same level of trustworthiness as used car salesmen. That gave me hope that the public wasn’t going to fall for the media’s campaign for 0bama.

MSM groups - from the New York Times to CNN - 'miss' the news for most Americans.

MSM newspapers write for the benefit of each other - competing for 'prizes' rather than competing for the trust and respect of their readers... and viewers. It's hurt them. Picture a toaster factory more concerned about prizes for wild designs than for toasters that don't burn the bread - - and you'll get it.

The blind eye the press turned to the majority of Americans is why they're failing. It never was 'the Internet' it was Drudge - a man who brought the news the MSM was ignoring or suppressing, or too out of touch to know it existed.

Exactly. They knew. They just didn’t want us to know. Too bad they dont have that kind of power over us any longer.

They were biased against it because of his race and gender.

In the early ‘70s, I was on a bus tour of the UK and Ireland. We were on the boat leaving Belfast. Chilling to see the barbed wire fences. Fell into a conversation with a fellow in his cities. He said something like how sad conditions were. I replied that I was disturbed about Belfast. he shrugged and said that what he was talking about economic conditions in the country, that he would probably never work again. I was taken about, almost shocked, and rather emotionally I told him that I did not think that things could stay this way, that there were too many great people in that land. He was delighted to hear me speak that way, and took me around to introduced me to others in his party. Want to explain Margaret Thatcher? There must have been millions British like him, waiting for true leadership. Personally, I do not think we will get it from Mr. Trump, but God knows, we need someone.
