Do you want to know what Donald Trump is really like?

Back in Febuary of 2016 there was a Repuplican debate. The moderator was calling out the candidates' names at the start of the debate. When Ben Carson's name was called, he didn't hear it. So he just stood there in the wings. Cruz, Christie, and Bush, they all just walked passed Carson. But Trump understood what had happened, and he stood there right by Carson. That is the mark of a man!

A memorable moment. One of those impromptu reactions that gives insight in to what a man is made of.

Only a wretched man thinks it is okay for a man to piss and crap (vulgarity intended-if you don’t understand why, get a life!) next to a little girl in a girls bathroom.

Quit lying by omission. Twisting Trumps positions is pointless. Like Ted apparently you are trying to get debate points. Problem is this is real life. Lying by omission is not a winner

I could not agree more. My wife and I were watching; it was a revealing moment. There are many other stories as well.

When I was a teenager, I was a nationally ranked bicycle racer. I raced against Greg LeMond and met him and many other champions from that time period. The thing that struck me about Greg LeMond was what outstanding sportsmen they were.

When Lance Armstrong was at the top of his game, Greg LeMond raised a red flag about Armstrong’s close association with Dr. Ferrari. LeMond was attacked ruthlessly by Armstrong and his followers, he was vilified, and it cost him his business and millions of dollars. At that time I was a big Lance Armstrong fan so this created turmoil for me, because I knew LeMond well enough to know that he was an honorable person.

For me this election has had many parallels to the Lance Armstrong situation. I started as a fan of Cruz, but through this election season the candidates true colors have been revealed. I believe that both Lance and Cruz are great men, but they are both fatally flawed. And they are both flawed because their fathers abandoned their families. To me it is amazing how similar their personalities and behaviors are. Both of them believe that lying and cheating is OK if it benefits them.

Ace of spades told everyone on his blog that the way Cruz just blew past Carson was the sign of a real leader. I lost a lot of respect for Cruz and ace that day.

I commented at the time, that Trump standing with Carson was absolutely the most important message of the entire debate.

When Cruz waffled about standing by ‘the pledge’ to support Trump if he were the candidate, the same side of Trump was shown. Trump said he saw Cruz agonizing over answering. And you couldn’t miss the sincerity in his reply that Cruz didn’t have to support Trump, Trump didn’t want Cruz to ‘feel uncomfortable’. Just as Trump didn’t want Carson to feel uncomfortable or awkward standing there alone.

Trump is the real deal. He’s genuine on a level we can all identify with.

Funny how you twist things just like the left wingers. Donald has said for months he would raise taxes ON THE RICH! You aare obviously just another narrow minded Cruzite.

OK, here’s the thing.

This should be a state issue, and a better answer to this obvious setup would have been “look, that’s not a federal issue, so my views on that particular point don’t really matter’, or words to that effect.

But what he said was: “There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go. They use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate ... “

Which seems to me to be missing the point in a couple of ways, the first of which is that NC should be free to set their own rules, and second that all the state law did was get out ahead of the sickos and keep things the way they are, preventing local jurisdictions from forcing people to allow “trans” people into the ladies’ room.

That said, Trump somewhat uncharacteristically was diplomatic and oblique. But the distinction between “They use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate...” and “Just let the perverts choose their own toilets” is one of inflection, and perhaps politeness. It would only become a “lie” if the poster tried to present those words as a direct quote, which he did not.

But anyway, what I’m trying to get at in a sort of roundabout way is that this infighting is going to kill us. I don’t know how Trump charts a course to 270 electoral votes. But it’s bigger than Trump. It’s going to take all of us pulling together to have even a remote chance. And with all due respect, characterizing a fair representation of one of Mr. Trump’s less-than-conservative utterances as a “lie” is toxic.

Whereas Cruz’s socialistic VAT tax will hit the lower and middle class the hardest.

I agree with you, Trump is wrong and needs to rethink his position, no doubt about it.

But you could have made your point without being vulgar, a better man would have.

Cruz is bad news on every count. He is eliminated just like Kasich but won’t admit it. I can’t stand him!

“Thanks for pointing that out. Since you’ve never made a typo, that means a lot to me.”

Sometimes I wonder if America deserves a real leader.

This November's general election will determine that.

Probably the last opportunity for the nation to get it right.

You are acting like a 12 year old. You would have been one of those people who would have just walked on by like your leader Ted Cruz did.
