TMZ is reporting that Prince has died in Minnesota.
Prince’s publicist has confirmed the news to his hometown newspaper.
The site first reported the news that authorities responded to a medical emergency at his Paisley Park home and studio on Thursday morning.
According to Carver County Sheriff Chief Deputy Jason Kamerud, deputies responded to Paisley Park at 9:43 a.m.

I had a JW relative die due to blood loss.
Prince had been hospitalized with the flu, so I’m doubting blood loss on this one.
Well said...He was a musical genius, who had music pouring out of him. His record companies had to stop him putting out loads of discs, he was so prolific.
There will be tons of his music to come in the future, as he only released a fraction, of what he wrote and it’s all good apparently.
RIP a genuine one off.
He also put on one helluva good super bowl halftime show some years ago.
There were at least 3 of us.
But I can’t say I ever heard any of his songs.
The filmmaker Kevin Smith has a video on YouTube where he is giving a lecture about his dealings with Prince. I do not mean disrespect for the deceased, but it is one of the funniest things I ever watched. Well worth the time. It will give you an insight into the man.
Well hopefully Prince purified himself in Lake Minnetonka before he passed.
Agreed...don't know why folks do that. RIP. He was a weirdo sometimes but I really enjoyed some of his music. 57 is too young.
I saw Purple Rain and not only liked his music but was blown away by Morris Day.
Led Zep, Cream, Frank Zappa, Hank and Hank JR, Waylon, Prince, and Morris Day... go figure.

April 16, 2016: MediaTakeOut.com just received word that a VERY popular African-American celebrity - who has recently been in the news - now has what is being described as AIDS. Obviously since we are not able to 100% confirm the story - we're going to leave it as a Blind Item. We want to make it clear we are NOT talking about Magic Johnson.
This report REALLY hurt our heart.
According to a person EXTREMELY CLOSE to the situation, the celebrity, who is known for having a very EXTREME sexual past reportedly contracted the illness sometime in the 1990s. He kept the illness quiet but began taking his medication RELIGIOUSLY up until about two years ago. Here's what we're told by a VERY trusted entertainment insider:
[The celebrity] believed that he was cured, and he had some crazy [religious] people who told him that God cured him. So he stopped taking his medication and the sickness came back. Now doctors say he's dying, and there is nothing anyone can do about it."
We're told that the celebrity is expected to get sicker and sicker, and eventually pass. It can happen as soon as the summer.
Very sad news.
Yes, you and my wife are the only two people that disliked his work. :-)
