Donald Trump rails against Carrier during rally at Indiana State Fairgrounds (Pence, Christie)
Fox 59 News ^ | 4/20/2106 | Kylee Wierks

“Governor Pence was pleased to welcome Mr. Trump back to Indiana and hear firsthand his plans for the country. The Governor was also grateful for the opportunity to describe Indiana's economic success and expressed his desire to have a partner in the White House who will help advance pro-growth economic policies, reduce burdensome regulation and curb the size and scope of government. With more than 130,000 new private sector jobs created since he took office, Governor Pence believes addressing these issues is critical in order for Indiana to continue to be a great place to live, work and raise a family.”

Carrier made the decision to leave Indianapolis for Mexico when the United Steel Workers went on strike. I’ve read that Carrier’s labor costs will go from $30/hr down to $3/hr. Not sure how Trump fixes that.

The answer is FAIR trade (please pick up on my sarcasm) We should demand that every factory worker in Mexico earn the same amount as a UNION worker in the US- then we can compete strait up or FAIRLY. Sort of like a Davis-Bacon Law but globally. Then when stupid liberals in the US pass ridiculous environmental laws, we should demand Mexico implement the same standards. Also demand that Mexico tax all companies at the highest global rate of 35%. All Mexican workers should attend a plethora of work place training on sexism, homophobia, racism, religionism.... you get it.

After all this, I am sure we will kick Mexico ass!

If I remember correctly, Pence is a good, honest, principled man.

How about railing over the regulations forcing them out?

“a partner in the White House who will help advance pro-growth economic policies”

Yes sir, President Trump will put up trade barriers so fast that Chinese, Mexican and Saudi heads will have whiplash.

Trump is aware of government regulations strangling the blood out businesses. He's also said many times the US has the highest corporates taxes in the world.

Keep in mind, Trump is forced to live and breathe this crap every day running his own businesses. None of the other candidates have a clue how frustrating it is to run a business, much less compete internationally.

The economic argument is always overwhelming. Companies don’t re-locate on a whim.

Fix the conditions here. Just making us all prisoners doesn’t really solve anything.

If everyone in the US makes $3 per hour who does Carrier sell to?

I am waiting for Carrier to tell us specifically which regulations “made” them move to Mexico. I am also waiting for them to announce price reductions on all AC units made in low cost Mexico.

Jobs are fleeing the USA to find the cheapest labor in the world and using high taxes and regulations as an excuse to shaft American workers. No tariffs mean huge profit$.

Fixed it.

Carrier could have moved to one of the 26 R-T-W states. But they went full NWO/WTO by picking Narco-Mexico.

It’s not a trade barrier. It’s a legitimate negotiation. Does a foreign country have the right to support industry, dump the goods here at an unsustainable price, drive our companies out of business, and then drain our nations resources for years?

I hope Pence survives re-election. A lot of Hoosiers hate him for reasons unknown to me. There are “Fire Pence” signs all around northern IN.

I guess the obvious answer must be yes...since that's what's been happening for decades.

Very interesting. Maybe Pence is looking for an edge for himself hence the meeting with Trump.

Well just relocate somewhere in Indiana and restaff with non-unoin labor. Or put it to a vote drop the union or lose your job to Mexico. They did that at a VW plant in Alabama and the employees vote 'no' to a union.
